Well, that would suck to win this, only to lose later on.

West Virginia is one of those weird states where everyone is registered Democrat, but votes Republican in the general election. In 2012, Barack Obama almost lost the West Virginia democratic primary to a federal inmate.

Not necessarily. The Democrats control the governorship, the Secretary of State, state treasurer, state auditor, ag commissioner. They control both he State House and the State Senate, as well as both US Senate seats. They even voted for Carter over Reagan.

How many people from western Maryland run for office in WV?

I guess there must be a few. It is not like the fake Indian in Mass.

Sasse wins.

He supports McConnell?

Also silent on guns:

According to the Nebraska Watchdog, the Sasse campaign flat out refused to comment on the issue, something that will probably give pause to most gun rights supporters.

Nebraska got played, imo. http://www.examiner.com/article/ben-sasse-created-candidate

Sasse never said he supports McConnell. He says he'll support the Republican leader. This may or may not be McConnell depending on if he wins re-election.
