NC has only 69 delegates which get proportioned. NC Primary Election is always late and this state sometimes feels "it doesnt matter in the process". Our Primary is May 5th however we have Precinct, county, and district conventions BEFORE the primary beginning February. Theres not even an official campaign coordinater in the whole state. alot of paul supporters here never even heard of a "precinct meeting" or "county convention" let alone "district convention" or "state convention".

You might want to appoint an official volunteer campaign person for NC from one of the meetups. id think all they need is endorsement from the campaign, it would require an hour of research/emails by the official campaign , and zero cash and then NC would suddenly be organized --- 1 hour of researching meetup members is all it would cost to organize NC.

You might consider selecting a State coordinator, and ask that person to select regional coordinators (id suggest 13 District captains- one for each of our congressional districts, but also just 3 would work -east, central, and coastal area captains) YOu could charge the 13 district captains to coordinate a county captain for each county in their district. and so forth. this is hard to pull through grassroots as there is a trust issue. thats why an official endorsement could establish the green light on the coordination effort.

I could personally suggest 3 or 4 excellent potential candidates that would probably do it free. I hear from some of them that theyve contacted HQ about helping but never hear back.

PM me if i can help further.

nc4rp, I feel you. Down here in the Charlotte area I'm working under the assumption that by the time the campaign gets around to paying any attention to us, it will be too little to late-just look at the help that other states have gotten from the campaign.

{{{{{Just to make things crystal clear, I am in it for the win, 100% all the way to the finish line, I plan on becoming a delegate, I am a precinct captain, I've donated my arse off, been to Boston, spent days and weeks in SC and will be in Atlanta on Feb 2nd. I will write his name in if I have to come election day, no more worse or worser for me. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.}}}}}}

I am not a meetup organizer, but I do come up with ideas and sometimes they stick! As soon as the Super Tuesday primaries are over, I'm planning on ordering materials and hitting the ground. Some of us have already been canvassing (go! Jose in Gastonia--this guy is organized I'm telling you--works odd hours/80 hrs a week and still canvasses his butt off!)

Bottom line, don't wait for help from the campaign, we are the ones that get it done, if it is going to get done. nc4rp, pm me if you wish, we'll get on the phone and chat--you are in the Raleigh area, right?? We hope to get an influx of signage from GA after Super Tuesday--all of SC meetups have been gathering signs to take to GA this weekend and GA has promised to get them back up to NC! Can you feel the love??

The best way is for one of you strong person to contact each meet up group and start guiding them to print out the phone calling sheet off the District leader area. We have to start dragging the data from the meet up group contacts and helping them get the call sheets. We are some what organized here in CT and had a really nice turn out for the straw poll. Maybe some of the other people here on the board could do the search and pull the data, and even start email each meet up group members to get them roped in.

We are also doing a visual table in town (meet and greet voter info table), It just takes someone going into town and asking to set up small voter info table outside their shop and sit for a couple of hours and hand out slim jim and buttons, yard signs, etc.

Good luck, I feel your pain, but we have to just start doing it. I think the meet up groups were key for knowing who supports Ron, now we need them to get out in the streets.

In South Carolina certain churches pick up stacks of absentee ballots. They fill them out and instruct their members to vote for specific candidates. The ballots are then delivered as a large stack of votes for a single candidate. If you think this doesn't work ask Barrack Obama. This is, of course, illegal because churches are tax exempt, but I wonder why we haven't learned something from this. We should be going door to door with absentee ballots. There's really no need for people to be showing up to vote. Let the meetup groups do it. Just get the essential info filled out right there on the spot and let the meetup groups deliver stacks of votes. This will go a long way towards increasing "voter turnout" in our favor.

We're haveing a meeting today here in Charlotte to start getting organized on a state level, I pm' nc4rp, anybody else want to be updated???

Olehoundog which district are you?
Change?

We need this thread moved to NC

NC4RP - Just take the ball and run with it. There isn't a need for an "assigned" state coordinator. Take the initiative. Get together with other RP supporters and lay out a plan for your state and make it happen.

Good luck!

I agree - if campaigning doesn't start in NC soon then the pollsters will hit it mid-Feb and find "6%" support and it'll be an uphill battle from there. If, however, we get to the people before the pollsters then they'll find much higher support for Paul early on and he'll have momentum here. In addition to what nc4rp says we also need billboards NOW, we need mailings NOW, we need ads in newspapers NOW. It's time for grassroots to start rolling in NC..

NC is a state that Paul can do well in. Of the 10 counties with the highest growth rate in the nation for illegal immigrants ->6<- are in NC. It has a lot of veterans, a lot of independents (especially in the Western part of the state) and has been hit very hard by NAFTA (read up on all the textile mills going overseas).

The answer=Precinct Captains

Me and my friends are attending republican events here in Wilkes. We're trying.

I came on board 10 days before the primary in Michigan. I did not get any response from our state coordinator after 2days of trying and time running out so I went to the HQ web-site and got the info on how to become a precinct captain and got a map of my precinct and a list of the registered voters.
I called all of the ones I knew personally and drove the precinct with slim jims that I punched a hole in the top of and fastened rubber bands to them and put them on the mail boxes (weekly or daily newspaper hangers usually have a small hook for their plastic bags to hang on).

My precinct came in at 15%. Just think what I could have accomplished had I had more lead time.

The precinct captains brought in double the votes that we would have gotten in Michigan.:)

We are all in it to the end so if there is anything you need by way of help just put the word out on the sub-forum for your state or campaign projects.

Keep on keepin' on.
