NC Liberty/Constitutional Candidates for the 2012 Elections

Scott Keadle, a Ron Paul Republican, is running in NC-8!

http://www.keadle.com/site/

He leans neocon on foreign policy..
What's his position on the War on Drugs and the Patriot Act?

If he's a Paul supporter then he's kept it a good secret. (no campaign contributions from him to ANY campaign...)

I'm in the 8th and I've been totally underwhelmed by his campaign. He didn't show up to the Cabarrus county convention or precinct meeting, and didn't show up for the 8th district convention. I understand that he's running against the establishment, but he shouldn't run away from them.

Oh, and he has run for Congress in two other districts (the 12th in 2000 and the 10th in 2010)...

Troxler--
While I'm not a farmer or anything, and the only time I've ever been under the "jurisdiction" of the Ag. Commissioner, I don't have anything against Troxler. Plus, people around here who do farm like him, so I figure thats enough for me. It's not like he is going to lose anyway.

'jacque' and one other person on FB told me that Troxler is pro-GMO. Troxler opposed Glen Bradley’s bill, H.B. 65, the North Carolina Farmer’s Freedom Protection Act. This info was too late for me as I had already early voted for Troxler, but maybe those who are voting tomorrow can keep this info in mind. Troxler's challenger McManus of course has other problems. While financial difficulties should not be a disqualifier, I know nothing about his policies either.

I forgot to finish my sentence: "While I'm not a farmer or anything, and the only time I've ever been under the "jurisdiction" of the Ag. Commissioner was at state fairs, I don't have anything against Troxler."

Anyways, This new information is interesting. Part of me doesn't want to vote Troxler because he opposes Bradley's FFPA bill, but I am not about to vote McManus either. I'll think about over the course of the day. Thanks for the info! (I.O.U. a +rep)

It may very well be the case that you will find races which have no good choices. In those cases, a non-vote may be the only morally defensible option.

Thanks for the info.. going to vote for FREEDOM NOW!

-Done Deal.. Freedom has been voted for.. again thanks for the info on all the other state reps!

As of about 6pm, I was the 1,291st ballot cast in Wake County district 05-05 (I think...Brier Creek). There was a fairly moderate turnout, and I heard a mixture of people saying "Democrat" and "Republican" as they were checking in.

I was genuinely impressed with the turnout in one small district polling place that is albeit remote, such as Brier Creek.

Thanks for the handy cheat-sheet in the OP, and further discussion in this thread. Helped me nail down some choices today!

Might have jumped the gun on calling him a "Ron Paul Republican" after seeing him agree with Ron's immigration policy on his website, but what he's offered is tons better than what we have so he's got my support. I'll admit to not being ideologically pure, I'd support a budget hawk if it's between him and an establishment Republican. I don't have a big issue with supporting a Jim DeMint-type, but I'll dump him if a better option comes along.

I do really like that he's been endorsed by the Club for Growth, who's endorsed guys clearly on our side in Amash, Lee, Rand, Massie, Cruz...and some guys that aren't fully liberty-minded but still on our side of things like Mourdock and Jeff Flake....while Keadle may not measure up to the incredibly lofty standard of "Ron Paul", I still think he'd be an overall positive influence in Congress. That's why I support him.

And he's facing a runoff election against the Eric Cantor-backed Richard Hudson. That should be enough of a reason for anyone to support him!

Yep. I need to do some research (and talk to him) and find out if I should just vote for him, or go all out and donate and volunteer for him.

also, the "old guard" in Cabarrus county GOP hates Keadle.. and that alone is enough for me to vote for him.
