So the MSM is officially telling us they will not follow RP anymore?

A couple weeks back I noted that Ron Paul, the lonely delegate hunter, had only one full-time, embedded reporter on his trail: Anthony Terrell of NBC News. Other reporters have provided some coverage of the candidate, but for the last few weeks Terrell was the only proverbial boy on the bus.

But now, Ron Paul is officially embedless.

Earlier this week, NBC decided that Terrell would transition off the trail and back to his job with MSNBC, though a spokesperson there would not comment on the move.

when Tampa goes brokered for all practical purposes
and Dr Ron Paul's delegates enliven things up, will NBC
agonize at all over the longterm consequences of this?

No. They'll be thinking they should have gone back to ignoring him sooner than this.

It is now official. The mainstream media is no longer covering Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.

A few weeks ago Dylan Byers of Politico reported that NBC News was the only media organization that still had a reporter covering Ron Paul full-time.

Now Byers has filed an update revealing that Anthony Terrell of NBC News has also been reassigned.

“Ron Paul is officially embedless.” writes Byers, adding that NBC has refused to comment on the decision.

Byers also reveals that other mainstream organizations, including Fox News, have no intention of putting a reporter back out full-time.

“Paul doesn’t have as many events right now as the other candidates in the race,” Hunter Ryan, the politics editor at Fox News Channel, told Byers.

“He is focusing on certain states. I am planning on covering him… [and] a combination of embed and bureau resources will be used to cover Paul going forward.”

“For most political reporters, he is all but irrelevant to the future of the GOP contest.” Byers adds.

As Paul supporters will know, any claim that Paul is not holding as many events as the other candidates is pure fiction. Indeed, Paul’s events consistently attract numbers in the thousands.

Just this past weekend, Paul spoke to 2300 people in Greene County, St.Louis, 2500 people in St. Charles County, St.Louis and 2100 voters at The University of Kansas.

Indeed, Anthony Terrell himself took this picture of Paul’s huge Kansas event. From now on, it seems that the campaign with be relying on supporters and it’s own staff to report on such events.

Furthermore, the Congressman is scheduled to hold similar sized events this week in Illinois and Missouri. Next week Paul will hold a major luncheon in Los Angeles and will appear on The Jay Leno show.

To suggest that the Congressman is winding down his campaign is laughable. While the other candidates are barely filling offices in small buildings, Paul is speaking to jam packed auditoriums and theaters and having to turn away hundreds of people from his events.

Paul has even spoken of his suspicions over the results of recent caucuses, owing to the vast numbers of people his events are attracting.

No, it's because that is all Ron is doing. Intermittent events here and there in large venues, typically at Universities...what is there to cover, he doesn't modify his speech, he doesn't try to educate in a new way...why >> would the news outlets cover him?? He doesn't provide 'read meat' for the media and he doesn't attack Obama or the other candidates...

Word of mouth brings about the tipping point. Just keep at it, no matter what.
These pics blew my mind, by the way.
And I get to attend one of these epic gatherings tonight :D

Why wouldn't they cover him? Your argument is stupid. Go support Obama if he does so much to 'educate in a new way.'
If you seriously believe 'all that Ron is doing,' is talking to big crowds and there's nothing deeper in his message, then you are just as blind as the next guy.

Ya, u just got Ron Pawled. Deal.

I had actually met Anthony. Great guy. It is up to NBC what stories they publish and what videos they show. Memory tells me Anthony was fair and honest in Iowa. He was also blown away by the amount of support Paul was drawing by his impressively large crowds.

I'm not sure which sarcastic response is better:

No reporters?? I guess they're going to start blacking him out.

or

Wait.. he used to have embedded reporters?? WHY THEY HELL HAVE THEY NEVER REPORTED ON HIM!!

They may as well stop paying the guy to travel around and report-on-nothing, for NBC this is a cost savings, for his coverage nothing changes.

And you just got an extra plus on your reputation:)

Sure am glad we have to work the rest of our lives to pay the taxes that support all those troops out there upholding and defending the Constitution and our freedom. If this was 1968 I betcha the rock throwing would have started a long time ago.

That would require changing our positions 180 degrees to be in line with their corporatist owner (GE).
Yes,shame that more don't realize the massive conflicts of interest the media has in reporting responsibly... So let's see, we can increase our viewership and gain a few more advertising dollars, but in turn support a candidate that could cost us millions by ending the corporate favoritism all of our other segments have thrived in. Hmmm, whatever shall we do?

When conglomerates own all of the media outlets, you can be sure that ratings will never trump their bigger financial interests, unless the story is so big that they have no choice but to report and distort it.

and i've gotten past feeling bad for cheering on the Afghans when they demonstrate and "riot" over the travesties that have been committed against them.

at least they have the balls to do it.

Better bring enough Tasers to handle the "Brown Shirts" aka "Black Ball Cappers" on the convention floor. TPTB will not allow any RP rallies/negotiations/floor movement. The election rigging and vote fraud were the first few steps, but when it gets to convention floor thuggery, banishment, oppression, etc will be the rule of law and it will be against anyone that supports Ron Paul.

Everyone be prepared for the worse possible actions against the rule of law, justice, and election.

LMAO!

So a failing network that requires tax payer govt. bailouts (thefts) to keep transmitting and has fewer viewers than your typical YouTube celebrity is no longer going to report on the news story of the decade.

.... NBC is a ship sailing from irrelevance to obscurity. :-) Bye Bye NBC.

Read this is you would like to understand how 5 companies that produce virtually every movie, every television program, every major news magazine, and most commercial music controls the collective concious through technology and the modern tools of human psychology.
