Nationalism (Trump) vs Globalism (Cruz)

Neither is going to liquidate the Empire and the third party candidates don't have a shot at it unfortunately. Nemesis, the Greek goddess of retribution is going to keep on punishing us for the country's hubris until we are bankrupt and there is a social upheaval (Iraq style race war anyone?)

Patriotism would....and without the war of hubris.

I'm a nationalist and I think Trump is an asshole. There is nothing that could get me to vote for him.

Nationalism. To me trump is just a more aggressive guy than Rand Paul and they want many of the same issues resolved. I don't care who does it as long as it gets done. Down with the GOP.

I wouldn't necessarily say that persevering the language and lineage of a people is only nationalist or unpatriotic. I see nationalism as more of a exclusionary nativist reactionary primal instinct.

However, there is nothing wrong with a civic nationalism (patriotism). I would venture that your patriotism should be in your faith, family, and town first...then your State...then the Union of States.

Bottom up, never top down. Top down leads to authoritarianism. Bottom up is the path to liberty.

Can't say that I trust either one of them. We can only guess as to what they would actually do if one of them became POTUS.

I get the feeling that Trump would be more willing to bend and play ball and eventually become a pawn anyway. As for Cruz, there's a good chance that he will be more obstructionist to the big government agenda, as he has been in the Senate. Then again, it's just as easy to see Cruz reverse on everything and become another GWB.

Who would do more vetos? Trump or Cruz?

Trump's biggest asset is his long memory. He's not going to just forgive and forget. That stubbornness could help the country.

Well, it might put a few establishment people out of the loop for 4 or 8 years, but there will plenty of associated people to fill that void.

Who would write more unConstitutional executive orders? That said, neither candidate is good.

This is very true, Rand tried to go around the establishment without pissing them off, Trump went right down their throats. But on a good many issues they want the same.

It's all a guess at this point, but the probability is that Trump would be less concerned (or knowledgeable) about the Constitution than Cruz.

Not a good chance at all with Cruz. He is a globalist through and through. Research he and Heidi's past. Also look at who is advising him now.

And yet Trump tweets scathing insults at Rand and wants him primaried out of his Senate seat.

sorry, guys, no matter how you try and slice it or make this either/or, NOTA is still the only honest answer.

I have listened to Trump since the days of my support for Pat Buchanan. I went to the Reform Party National convention in 2000 in Long Beach as a delegate...I can tell you Trump is spot on in many things he says and does, it's not something he just flipped to. I don't agree with him on everything, but Nationalism is absolutely the best thing for Americans...unless you are a supporter of the Chinese or you want a global government.

This country was formed out of Nationalism, can I think of far better Nationalists than Trump..yep...but we only have Trump vs Booger vs Clinton vs Sanders....I'm going with Trump

The problem is, the positions you're talking about, the ones that he didn't just flip to, are all wrong.
