I think my favorite General Mills creation would be Red Lobster . Whole thing started in your neck of the woods with the Minneapolis Milling Co in 1856 .By some Congressman from Illinois .What a bunch off lucky fellows , built a new mill in 1877 and it exploded in 1878 , killing eighteen .

As much as I admire Jackson, I'm calling bullshit on this one. Lee lost Gettysburg(barely) after Jackson died, and this was only because he, and the army hadn't yet adapted to winning without him.

The next year saw one Union defeat after another. In fact, Lee bled Grant so badly during the summer of 1864, wide-spread voter fraud was required to secure Lincoln a victory due to what was becoming a very unpopular war.

I voted Lee without hesitation.

The Union did a lot better after Stonewall died.
 
Patton. And there is some strong evidence that he may have been killed by the TPTB.

Of course! If Jackson had been leading his old corp at Gettysburg, Cemetery Hill would've been taken on the first day and the Lee-Jackson tag team would've racked up another brilliant victory. Washington would've been evacuated in a panic and the Old Republic might yet live.
 
While I have tremondous respect for Jackson , I feel , also , that Cemetery hill was an easily defensible position . In fact , due to General Buford arriving early and securing the high ground , there was little chance for a Southern victory , best I can tell.
 
Pattons demise looks suspicious , Meriwether Lewis was most certainly murdered , so the history of this type of thing runs deep and long...

Don't know, but the author was suddenly hospitalized, and then died while writing the book. Can't remember his age, but I think it was only 63. Lucky, but he was almost finished, his son I believe finished up the project.

Farago said after writing his first book on Patton, he became suspicious of his death.

The other book by Wilcoz owes a lot to Farago, but goes far beyond. It is a great book.
