National Journal: Romney is The New Frontrunner In Iowa

Make no mistake: If Romney wins the Iowa caucuses, he's on a glide path to the Republican nomination. And with newfound scrutiny over Paul's racial record, Gingrich losing momentum and the evangelical base vote split between Bachmann, Perry and Santorum, it's looking awfully likely that Romney will come away as the big winner on Jan. 3.

Used to respect National Journal, but they're on board the "Romney wins even if he loses" mind-numbing spin.

Wow, they really are going for "you're a winner even though you lost" attempt. Perhaps he'll get a certificate of participation and an "I am special" sticker.

These people are just so pathetic and transparent.

let them raise expectations for Romney so that way it hurts when he loses, I rather have our expectations lowered so it has oomph when we win

It's like what they tell third graders when they do poorly in class. "It's okay, Timmy, you didn't win but you still kinda win. yay!"

They're right. As long as Romney gets a close second, he will have enough momentum going into NH that he will still be the likely nominee.

We are going to have to beat Romney by a solid margin in Iowa to give us enough of a bump in NH to make it a contest.

Romney's team has a long term strategy that focuses on acquiring delegates. It's going to be a shame if it gets down the wire at the convention, and Romney ends up beating us because we don't have the delegate organization that he does.

Have you taken the necessary steps to become a delegate?

I otice that the web address begins with 'decoded' I am thinking that is because you need some kind of decoder to make that shit make any kind of sense.

So Ron loses if even if he wins and Romney wins even if he loses...? I guess that means Romney was the nominee winner in 2008, because he sure as hell lost then too.

I notice that the web address begins with 'decoded' I am thinking that is because you need some kind of decoder to make that shit make any kind of sense.

Lol. Fortunately my machine is lacking in said device. We all need a "magic BS decoder ring" ;)

Well, has our standing been hurt anywhere since the media has been attacking? He's gone up in national, NH, and IA polls that have been polled during the scandal, I'm curious to see if he's gone up in SC due to the scandal.

We should see a decent spread between mitt and Romney, although PPP pointed out santorum is a popular second choice which is important cause caucuses there are multiple ballots

meaning, if there isn't a outright winner in the first round a lot of Perry and Bachman supporters might go Santorum, and I wouldn't be suprised if Mitt organizes some of his voters to vote for Ron Paul to prevent Perry or Newt from winning it's what he did in the Florida straw poll to get Herman Cain to win.

Romney: The New Frontrunner In Iowa

Take a look at the latest Romney headlines today. Sense a pattern?

Washington Post: "For Romney, stealth campaign brings real hopes of winning Iowa"
With a week to go before voters provide the answer that Romney didn't, the former Massachusetts governor appears to have about the same level of support as four years ago -- only this time that could be enough to win Tuesday's contest and put him on a path to quickly lock up the Republican presidential nomination.
Politico: "Mitt Romney in striking distance of Iowa win"
A slew of public and private polling and anecdotal evidence on the ground suggests that Romney is within striking distance of a first-place finish in Iowa -- especially as Ron Paul's momentum spurt appears to have run into the reality of front-runners' scrutiny...
In another clear sign he's playing to win, he has quietly moved a handful of staffers from his headquarters in Boston and in other states earlier this month to give his skeleton Iowa staff a needed boost. And he's cycling in a platoon of high-profile surrogates to rally around him in the state at stump stops and on talk radio, including Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. John Thune, Rep. Aaron Schock and former Sens. Norm Coleman and Jim Talent.
Wall Street Journal: "As Iowa Nears, Romney Sounds Confident"
Mitt Romney isn't about to predict victory in Iowa, the state that tripped him up four years ago. But he and his usually staid campaign are taking on a swagger not seen all year.

Los Angeles Times: "Romney Looks Poised for Iowa victory, maybe even if he loses"

After a campaign effort that has defied convention and angered top Iowa Republicans, Mitt Romney is well-positioned to emerge as a big winner in Tuesday's presidential caucuses.

"oh, its Ok Mittens...we know you lost, but at least you guys had fun, and that's all that matters..."

Always boggled my mind when little league baseball/soccer/football coaching I've done over the years with my son, that the parents always say this shit when their team lost. I was always very vocal in opposition of that shit, as what the hell is the point of playing something where you are supposed to WIN or LOSE, just to say in the end "it doesn't matter, at least you had fun"...

Of course it fucking matters, the point is to win-not just have fun. I never told my boys before the game "just go have fun, it doesn't matter if we win".

Sorry, this PC be nice and don't hurt Johnny's feelings cause he sucks at playing the game shit is driving me into rants, lol.
