Nashville Paper Omits RP from Voter Guide (with contact info)

Stop hurting America

Include every candidate not just the "front runners" that the media picked out for everyone. What happened on page 22a this passed Sunday was flat out wrong. I am canceling my subscription.

If you feel that way - email them!

My emai to the editor:

Mark Silverman,

As a concerned citizen of this nation, I believe it of utmost importance that we have a fair press, reporting accurately as responsible journalists. As editor-in-chief of the Tennessean, I'm sure you would agree.

After glancing through this Sunday's edition of your newspaper, I noticed that there were mulitple misprints beginning on page 22a (the Issues section) and continuing through the entire presentation of the 2008 Presidential race. It appears that your publication spent much time reporting and dissecting the ins and outs of all of the candidates except one: Dr. Ron Paul.

Upon seeing the amount of effort that was put into the large amount of information your publication was providing, and the large readership your publication maintains, I can only surmise that your motivation for leaving out the one candidate who truly stands out from the rest is one nestled in fear and contempt.

Ironic that the same fear preached in the media concerning terrorism is the same fear of Dr. Ron Paul that causes the media, now including your publication, to be absolutely silent. And while you read this, I know you're racing through your mind, remembering to the second when the decision to omit Ron Paul was made. You'll say it was made due to space in your paper - made by execs not you. And of course, you know that if you had put Ron Paul in there, you would've had to illustrate to your readers in the candidate's issues section, maybe to some for the first time, just how conservative, constitutional, and correct Ron Paul is on the issues compared to the others.

It's a shame to see this behavior from the television media, but Ron Paul supporters are documenting the blatant bias and censorship and simply moving on. However, we thought that newspapers, in particular the Tennessean, would report accurately and fairly on a man who has simply "volunteered" to lead this revolution due to the outcry of those in this nation who want true Constitutional change.

As a fifth-generation Lauderdale from Sumner County, I am appalled that your newspaper would intentionally perform in such an unprofessional and unpatriotic way as our nation traverses very rigorous domestic and foreign challenges. I sincerely hope that your publication will immeidately report the oversight, as well as dedicate the equal and fair space to reporting Ron Paul's stances on the issues. Obviously this would be the most professional and ethical manner in handling such a major misprint.

You blacklisted Congressman Dr. Ron Paul TWICE in the same election cycle!!! (see our previous correspondence below)

Are you going to claim internal incompetence like last time, or was this an outright biased attempt at swaying the results of the election?

Your daily publication is pathetic and I wouldn't use it for toilet paper even if it came down to a choice of that or tree bark!

Don't count on them to fix it. Stop by the paper machine in the morning and put Llepard's USA today ad in manually.

We are all out. We have made all of those into door hangers and passed them out to supervoters LOL.

did they fix it or was it a scam?

I don't actually know.

But the chances of them fixing it are low. I think it depends almost entirely on
how many of us emailed them as to weather they will address it. If around 1000
of us or more did so then there will probably be something done about it. Just a
guess though.

Can someone from that area comment on it please?

Yes they printed the chart including Paul on Super Tuesday as well as his pic on the front page, and a letter to the editor with a retraction and explanation on the OP/ED page.

Too little too late obviously, but they f-d us good enough to satisfy their agenda

Or not... I wonder. It might even work to our advantage. Voting is pretty impulsive for
most Americans - I think. I wonder how many people will wake up in the morning, read
the op-ed, ponder it over lunch and think - I'm going to do the right thing in the primaries
this year and vote for honest one. Or read it and have THAT info in their heads the freshest
when they hit the polls.

I think it may not necessarily be a bad thing. I dunno the dates tho. If the op-ed
appeared after the polls were closed that's obviously not good. :S

The lord works in mysterious way and often evil plans backfire in just this way.
