NASA's Voyager Hits New Region at Solar System Edge

i've watched the entirety of stargate sg-1, stargate atlantis, stargate sgu, star trek next generation, star trek deep space nine, star trek voyager, seen all the movies between the two. stargate sg-1 early seaons are the best, star trek deep space nine minus the last season is second best.

I could not get interested in DS9. I watched all the rest of them, though. I wish they hadn't canceled SGU. I think it was one of the best stargates.

SGU was an abomination. DS9 is the best Star Trek that Star Trek has to offer (except for Wrath of Khan, which is unlikely to ever be superseded)

It is hard to believe that the voyagers are still going and transmitting and long past their intended life. How many around here remember when they were launched?

"The whole wide world, an endless Universe, Yet we keep looking through the eyeglass in reverse..."

The amount of good that has been lost to unnecessary wars and which could have allowed us to be well on the way to having permanent extra-terrestrial colonies by now is staggering.

The early science fiction writers had it mostly right, there was and remains a glorious future for our species if we can just get our collective heads out of our posteriors and focus on solutions that make everyone better instead of enriching fewer and fewer.

I am optimistic though that much of this knowledge and drive really hasn't gone anywhere, it's lurking right underneath the surface, just waiting for a few decades of rational peace to break out, with the removal of the shackles of government from the lives of productive individuals, to allow us to restart our destiny of becoming a space-going species, and relating to our planet as such.

It's the only logical course of action for long-term survival, so of course we must get about doing it. No god or alien race is going to come along and save us, at least they haven't yet despite rumors to the contrary.

I was hooked on Star Trek Voyager when I first saw Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) ;) Good lord....
