Mythical “Jew Registration” in East Ukraine a Media Sensation

Determined not to let a good piece of rhetoric go to waste just because it was untrue and discredited nearly 24 hours ago, Western media outlets are running frenzied stories about Jews in the protester-held Eastern Ukraine cities being forced to register, providing a new chance to make World War 2 comparisons, and advancing the US narrative that the Russians, and not the “pro-West” protesters with swastika stickers on their helmets, are the “real anti-semites.”

Incredibly, the State Department is endorsing the myth as absolute fact, because what USA Today claims unnamed Israeli media claims they saw posted outside a synagogue in Donetsk is good enough for them.

The truth, not so much.

The leadership of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk insist the official looking leaflets are fakes, and the signature of one of their leaders a forgery, designed to discredit the protest movement. The putative Jew registration service simply doesn’t exist, and Ukrainian Jews who show up at the government building expecting to have to pay a $50 “registration fee” are wasting their time.

Though USA Today appears not to have noticed while trolling the “Israeli media” for stories, the news that the rumors were untrue has been a top story in the Times of Israel for almost 24 hours, because Israeli papers may run a story about what someone saw on a leaflet, but they also follow through on the story afterwards.

Lord knows following through on whether or not urban legends are true isn’t done in the US, which is why all the top stories in US papers today are either Jew registration that’s not happening, or a handful of kids in Tokyo wearing zentai, because that’s sure to be the new fad nationwide.

The Zionists are false flaggin' anti-semitism....again. Man they're hungry for power. Maybe it they came from Bernanke's printing press.

Where's the damned meteor strike and resulting near-extinction level event when you need it?

who the f*** would do that?

Actually, anyone getting a notice like that should show up with pitch forks and torches-- for ANY "registration fee."

But to the point-- yeah, someone really wants to send our kids to war pretty bad. :(

They are still reporting this on CNN right now. Their headline banner says "Anti-Semitic Pamphlets Spark Outrage in Ukraine". Obvious propaganda.

This was propaganda not created by Zionists by the Ukranian opposition to the Eastern regions sovereignty. They were attempting to discredit them. It failed. THe US State department needed an excuse to attack the Separatists though so they ran with this.

Just admit it. Mark Potok wrote them, Bill Kristol printed them out on his home printer and John McCain was over there wearing a mask and handing them out...

Theyd hire someone to do it if they were really interested.

The mental image caused me to laugh out loud. :)

Lol. Some guy on Faux News just talked about this as if it was still a real issue. They won't drop it.

Some woman (Liz Trotta) is giving a strange, long winded solo "commentary" on Fox News. Mostly about the evil Mooslims killing Christians. But she also threw in the "anti-Semitic" flyers, as if it was real and confirmed.

Was talking to a regular Fox viewer who told me that these flyers were made by Putin to discredit the Ukraine. Apparently that has been pushed on Fox. I asked if this was a plot by Putin, why is the US media helping him by spreading the story? No answer.

The fact is, jews aren't liked much by most of the populous in that area, so real or fake, it is not surprising.

Israel was one of the only US-aligned nations that did not vote for the UN resolution condemning Russia for the invasion of Crimea. Even 'neutral' Switzerland supported it.

In the days before the Geneva "de-escalation" conference (and coincidentally, days after the secret visit of CIA director Brennan to Kiev), the top story across western media was the "undisputed" proof that east-Ukraine, populated by "terrorist separatists", is preparing to unleash a neo-nazi wave against local jews, when a leaflet was unveiled, beckoning the Jewish population to register and declare their assets.
[...]
So the bottom line, namely that this was merely a provocation designed to generate a kneejerk emotional response from the west and paint the pro-Russia militia as neo-nazis and generally, as fascists (even though it was the ultra nationalist Right Sector that was instrumental in the overthrow of the Yanukovich government) was clear to most - even the population that was seemingly being targeted.

But not to John Kerry. "Secretary of State John Kerry said the language of the leaflets "is beyond unacceptable" and condemned whomever is responsible."

"In the year 2014, after all of the miles traveled and all of the journey of history, this is not just intolerable — it's grotesque," he said. "And any of the people who engage in these kinds of activities — from whatever party or whatever ideology or whatever place they crawl out of — there is no place for that."

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt called the leaflets "the real deal." But the man whose name appears on the leaflets, Denis Pushilin, identified as chairman of "Donetsk's temporary government," said he was not responsible.

"The real deal"... with the small exception that they were forged, in everything from the photoshopped stamp, to the fact that the person who allegedly signed the leaflets, Denis Pushilin - the Chair of the recently created Donetsk republic - explicitly stated he had nothing to do with this attempt to rile up anti-semitic sentiment in Donetsk.

Of course, with the CIA operating freely in Kiev, and having been rather instrumental in the establishment of the current political regime (as it did in the US-foreign policy "success stories" of Libya and Egypt), one can be sure that the provocations will only gets more grotesque, surreal and most likely, violent from this point onward.

If it was the CIA, somehow I doubt Kerry will be equally appalled.
