My thoughts on this debate (ABC News, Yahoo! 10 DEC 11)

I put no trust in any Ron Paul supporter who claims Ron Paul didn't do well tonight. He nailed multiple questions. He dropped multiple nuclear truth bombs that resonated not only with us, but to massive cheers from the crowd.

To those of you to whom this applies -- I reject your attempts to tell me that nothing will change after this.
To those of you to whom this applies -- I reject your constant attempts to squelch our enthusiasm.
To those of you to whom this applies -- I reject your attempts to foster misgivings and crack our confidence.

The media seeks to shape our opinions with their laughable analysis, and some of you seek to sway our opinions with miserable attempts at social engineering. I fart in your general direction.

Paul- Honestly VERY good, on top of it tonight!

Gingrich- Sounded very arrogant IMO, deflected attacks ok but still not very good.

Perry- Better than normal, over decent

Santorum- IDK, he's way hung up on family and what not. Good families are awesome, but that won't get us back on track!

Bachmann- Not much substance, her base will love it, but nothing outside of that.

Romney- OK, good presentation like usual but not setting himself apart.

Now that is a quote to remember.

Gingrich got hurt on both the individual mandate and the marriage issue tonight. It might not be reflected in an immediate big drop in the polls, but I believe those doubts are being planted in the heads of voters and will bear fruit come caucus time. You can only give a mea culpa on your past so many times before people give up on you.

I agree, despite the MSM defending him Newt was wounded tonight.
Romney also was wounded with the 10,000 dollar bet remark because the media will talk about it.

Ron did the best and I expect to see a few percentage point bump in his poll numbers.

Newt has the MSM's tongue so far up his yingyang that it will take them a long time to sober up and figure what they've been doing. "Smartest guy in the room?" BS! I would bet $10,000 of Romney money that Ron Paul the medical doctor is smarter than Newt the lobbying professor. This is in any area: standardized tests, memory, logic, HISTORY, basic math skills. Newt is some type of wind-sock sociopath. That is a very narrow type of intelligence, generously speaking, and most everyone (except the bulk of the MSM) sees through it.

I missed the debate, but just watch the tube of the RP highlights and, man, if he didn't whoop butt tonight!!!!! I had a hard time believing this footage was all from just ONE debate.....it seems as though they were the best highlights from many debates over the years!

Ron - Amazing! He, like Hanibal Barca knows how to gain a victory, but not how to use one. Excellent preformance will be forgotten by MSM blackout.
Gingrich - Was attacked and he defended himself decently......could have been a lot worse for him.MSM will make him winner of this debate hands down.
Romney - Not good.
Perry - prety good.
Bachmann - Very good. I dont agree that mentioning Cain is stupid. There are a lot of Cain suporters who are still undecided. She kissed their asses....was it enough? Dont know.
Santorum - Good.

My thoughts on the debate, not so much concerned with their policies, but how they helped or hurt their campaigns:

Gingrich: Did well, no major gaffes. Had a great line saying Romney would have been a career politician if he beat Kennedy. Was able to deflect pretty much every attack against him. Still the front-runner.

Not even close. EVERYONE went after Newt. They exposed his record as a big government insider loon who backed a health care mandate, child labor, global warming alarmism, the TARP bailouts, and strip mining the moon. He had no defense because it was all true.

"Didn't do much to expand his base of support!?!?!?"

What exactly does he need to do to do that, OP?

Now that 's a serious post.

I loved how the moderator challenged Romney to go into detail how he's different from Newt... and he stumbled on that for a good 10 seconds or so, then the best he could come up with was "we disagree on the space program".... was funny I thought :)

I had a dream?

Is it me or ..
we might actually win this thing?
Is there a REAL possibility?
Is Doctor Ron Paul so infinitely strong ,so semi-divine to be capable of ACTUALLY revolutionize THAT much?
Beat the sistem?

Am I only dreaming?
( if the answer is "yes" i beg you, please don't wake me yet,it's still early)

IF he can truly accomplish such a wondrous miracle..I only worry about what the mark levin limbaugh mc cain rumsfeld cheaney obama sionists gore powell o'reilly clinton bushes rachel madcows of America wil do.
How insane will they go?
It will be so dishearting and troublesome to behold..yet..all so sweet.

Winners:
Bachmann - Her "Newt Romney" bit was devastating. Absolutely brutal. I think people will look at that as one of the defining moments of this debate. She had a couple of other very good answers as well.
Paul - Absolutely nailed every question he was given. Got props from multiple other candidates, on both areas where he is acknowledged (the Fed) and areas where he is usually derided (leadership - I think it's big that ROMNEY [probably the one on stage with the best leadership qualities when you ignore the issues] acknowledged Paul as a leader).

Didn't Move the Needle:
Romney - $10K bet may have looked strange to middle-class America, whom he claims to care so much about. Did a good job positioning himself as more conservative than Gingrich, although his reasoning was mostly BS.
Perry - Didn't hurt himself, came across as a likeable guy. Didn't really bring up much new stuff that we haven't heard from him before.
Santorum - No idea why he gets to come to these. He's Santorum - I respect him, I just disagree with him.

Hurt:
Gingrich - Took some major shots to the teeth on infidelity, getting taxpayer bailouts, supporting an individual mandate since the 90s, etc.

Yea but on Bachmann:
the whole "cain people come to me now" bit ..was just really sad
