My Nevada caucus journey -- from supporting Ron Paul to Bernie Sanders

They say that we need radical change, drastic change.

Yet this is the country that refugees flock to. Granted it's not perfect, but it's a helluva lot better than most other countries.

So here we have people flicking here from Mexico, Venezuela, and other craphole countries. So many that we are inundated, and what do clowns like Bernie and his followers want? They want us to drastically change to be more like those crap countries that literally millions are fleeing.

Radical change! Are they crazy?

The voters are crazy, Bernie and his ilk plan to be the overlords.

NH is crawling with ex-Ron Paulers who think the same way.
They both have something in common: they are a wild element the establishment appears to not like. They both appeal to disenchanted/alienated people who feel like the current system is failing. And of course they're totally right: our system of government and society is totally dysfunctional.

They both have different prescriptions, but the diagnosis is the same. Or at least same enough: "Horrible mess; huge change needed."

To the point of insanity.
Why call the general condition of virtually all humanity "insane"?

People have always been gullible, as far as I can tell.

What is insane is the idea of letting the peasants all vote. And then acting upon how that vote comes out.

Of course, powerful people would never actually do that. In our system, and all other "democracies," they just pretend to care what that vote is, and actually just do whatever, and the voters have virtually no control at all. Which is also a pretty insane way to do it.

Democracy theater is a cruel and evil way to run a country. And insulting to our intelligence!

True libertarians are supportive of LGBTQ rights, drug legalization, criminal justice reform, reproductive rights and a host of progressive social issues.
I see relatively few people being organically super-excited about any of those issues. Drug legalization would have the biggest fan base, but it has already largely happened.
I didn't realize then that government is the only tool available to level the playing field, and by succumbing to the decades-long GOP crusade to vilify our own government and institutions, we end up powerless against business interests, polluters and hucksters determined to loot the country.
Now "I will steal money from billlionaires and multinational corporations and give it to you" is a stance that will a get lot more support from broke millennials.

Most of humanity IS insane, we live in an insane asylum.
But communists and those who listen to them are more insane than most of humanity throughout history.

People liked Ron Paul for different reasons.....what I am posting below is also attracting likes for Americans that would like fully socialized medicare.

Now many in this forum will disagree with this, but if you are lower middle class making less than 29K a year this looks pretty good, even 50K at $840 a year that ALSO cover all dental....it's not a bad deal if you are currently paying out of pocket for sickness or bad teeth.

We may not agree with it....but if you can't see the attraction; then we are really out of touch with many Americans would like to see happen.

People who talk about social issues instead of economic are bad libertarians.
"Jeff Deist on Tom Woods"

This guy has been shilling against libertarianism for ten years. He keeps writing the same article over and over again.

most of our supporters were totally fucking nuts

So I'm nuts for supporting ron Paul? No you are nuts for supporting communist Bernie sanders.

If you think that selfishness and cruelty are fantastic personal traits, you might be a libertarian.
This is a leftist talking point.

There are a lot of libertarians in the Tea Party, but there are also a lot of repugnant, religious nuts and intolerant racists. “Birthers” found a comfy home among 9-11 conspiracy people and other crackpots.

Please shut up moron!

During Obama’s first term, I also went to graduate school for creative writing at progressive college, and I settled into my marriage with my wife, a Canadian and “goddamn liberal.” I can’t point to just one thing that pushed me left, but in Obama’s first term I had a change of heart, moving from a lifelong extreme into the bosom of conventional liberalism.

You know what is funny I know a lot of people who liked obama before he become President & many of them switched to Ron Paul.

A month before the 2012 election, I changed my party affiliation to Democrat. I am a very late bloomer, that it took me so many decades to develop my own values. I was thirty-nine.

You joined the dark side!

My combined employer/employee payments for a shitty family plan with deductibles and limits so sky high as to be worthless, cost over $20,000 last year.

There is no way that a working class family can pay $1000 a month for "insurance".

Romney/Obamacare was designed to fail, to usher in single payer "medicare for all" schemes.

Of course this plan has huge appeal...if they don't steal the nomination from him again, Sanders stands a good chance of winning.

We've been invaded by 50-60 million high functioning retards, which, combined with our own native born retard class, thinks this is fine, and has no concept of the $48 trillion dollars of added cost in addition to the $25 trillion we already owe, that are the true annual costs of such a plan.

Freedom is not popular.

I think everyone can see that free stuff is popular. It’s the advanced knowledge and experience that tells people that nothing comes for free. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. These are the lessons that a parent teaches a child so that they do not enter the world and become easy prey for con-men, shysters and charlatans. Communists take advantage of child-minded, ignorant people.
