My first post---have to get this off my chest.

met harry browne a few times back in 96 i think it was maybe earlier.
Cool, did he visit Colorado? I remember watching the LP convention on C-SPAN. I was just a teen then, and it was the first time I'd ever seen something political on TV where the people actually agreed with me for an extended period of time, and on every issue, too!

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. -JFK

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. -Thomas Jefferson

I say this as a business owner. I am so freaked out at the policies here that I am "this close" to packing up the business and moving abroad--and this is is totally doable.
.

Why go abroad? Have you heard of he Free State Project (http://www.freestateproject.org)? Its an attempt to move thousands of liberty lovers like yourself to a small populous state (New Hampshire) and get active for liberty.

I was a liberal too. Then I realized I was just anti-war and pro-civil rights. Never thought I'd ever vote for a Republican.

What I find disturbing is that the rule of law is no longer respected.

When the regulatory agencies do no uphold and enforce contract laws or property rights, our whole financial and economic system will not function. You just don't know at what point you will lose your money and where you can entrust your money because no place is safe. Take MF Global for example. Segregated customer's money was taken by MF Global. At this point in time, these customers still don't know where their money is and whether they are going to get it back. This is stealing and yet the Obama Administration DOJ has not done anything about it and nobody has been prosecuted for this blatant theft. If you steal someone's property, you get arrested, tried, sentenced, and convicted and then you have to make restitution. Three months after the MF Global collapse, these crooks are still going free and customers are still without their money.

Guys all of these agencies need to be reformed and simplified from top to bottom. Creative destruction. We in the private, non subsidized sector have to do this or perish.

But if you add more economic stress on top of an already stressed agency, then you get nonfunctional, period. This is precisely how 3rd world bureaucracies operate.

I want you guys to consider the consequences of having a seized up government instead of one that has been dismantled in an orderly way. If you have states splitting off, you will have currency issues, you will have "interstate commerce" issues. How will postal delivery work? See, all of the states are connected at the hip, so I want to to consider the ramifications say if Texas (or Oklahoma or Louisiana), with all its oil, were to break off, there Instant 3rd world, as you would now have currency issues. How about water rights? What if one state implemented borders against another state?

We WANT to stay the 50 states, believe me. But guys, the debt has gone so parabolic, and the feds have become so corrupt, I just don't see how the logistics will be there if we stay on the same path for 4 more years.
