I am a liberal who has followed Ron Paul for 4 years. I also have kept up meticulously with the events over the last 10 years that is resulting in a slow motion collapse. Honestly guys, I get cold chills down my spine fathoming another 4 years of the Romney/Obama machine.

We don't have that long. We are in such a fragile state in this nation that if Ron Paul is not elected to orderly dismantle useless parts of the federal government and control spending in a humane fashion, we could very well have sections of out government that "seizes up", and becomes completely nonfunctional. You see this stress already happening with the IRS, VA, and INS to say the least.

I just don't understand. Everybody I know that is politically active---left and right---is fervently pro-Ron Paul. I mean, they follow his every move and are very very concerned that he gets a fair shake.

So many people are desperate right now. I mean, how could you NOT vote for Ron Paul? Guys, he is the only chance we have. The economy is NOT improving. It is just a matter of time before the full pipeline of foreclosures are completed and 10+ million people get dumped on the street after years of free rent. You think there are enough empty storefronts and office buildings now? Just wait for one or two years. You think your job is on the skids now? Just wait---because statistically the fundamentals for any recovery are not there.

I say this as a business owner. I am so freaked out at the policies here that I am "this close" to packing up the business and moving abroad--and this is is totally doable.

If a voter does not do his job and get Paul in, then he deserves exactly what he is going to get. Also, we need to watch vote counting fraud like hawks.

They can ignore that things are coming to an end as long as the can can be kicked down the street at least one more time.

What's going on with the IRS?

Welcome to the revolution. Thank you for taking the red pill, good choice ;)
There's no going back now...

My faith is the only thing that keeps me from rocking in a corner.

I have faith: not in humans, but of God.

If God has blessed Ron Paul and his message of liberty, nothing can stop it.

So pray. Even if you don't believe! What do you have to lose?

Dear Creator,
We know you blessed the founders of this nation with immense wisdom and allowed this great nation to prosper under never before known freedom. Please Lord send your spirit to awaken the American people before it is too late. Show them the peace you offer us, even when all seems lost.

Amen

Hi.
For me, it's difficult to dial down my passionate rhetoric in favor of a cooler, more informative approach. Dr. Paul's greatest opponent is ignorance. I believe that we, as Paul supporters (and ultimately, as Americans) have an obligation to teach others about our candidate, and in doing so, teach them about those precepts on which our nation was created.

(whoops....rhetoric again...:P )

Welcome mary and thanks... as a former small business owner I know too the frustration of trying to build jobs in America when everybody in govt is giving you everyreason NOT to hire here and instead outsource overseas.

Welcome.

We all understand what you are saying. The machine is a powerful thing and fully in control. Yes, it is disheartening and I imagine lots of people will pack up and leave this country for good if Paul is not the candidate. Sorry for all of us who actually get it, but there is only so much we can do. After that it is likely survival mode. Try to keep a cheerful heart in spite of everything. :)

Thanks guys. If you try to deal with the IRS after they have made a mistake---you will find that one hand does not talk to the other and that you will be bombarded with forms demanding -11 cents. If you deal with the INS, then you realize that the help line you call has no access to one's records (I am helping a loved one). If you call the VA, you get the runaround if you move or are needing to transfer hospitals---it might take weeks. These are just tiny examples of a system under extreme stress. How about imagining these same systems under more stress? I can see the day when bribery becomes necessary to push things through. How about the postal system, which is constitutionally mandated and a very important part of being a first world country?

Just how long do you think the student loan fiasco can go on when only 40% of borrowers are paying (the others are in deferment or default)? Same with medicare. This country is becoming a shithole rapidly.

Guys, this is serious. If Ron does not get in, you can put a fork in it.

Hi, and welcome aboard.

I worry about how much longer it will be totally doable...

Welcome here. Thanks for your support.

But really, the very best parts of the federal government are the useless ones.

they need to be gone. +1 rep to mary
Absolutely! Previous liberty candidate Harry Browne had the idea of demolishing the IRS building (in a glorious media event, I'm sure) and then selling off small collectible pieces of the debris as was done with the Berlin Wall. I like that. I'm sure a President Paul could make it happen.

Oh ok, I see what your point was wrt to the IRS now. Well, it has been that way for a long time and I think it is intentional. They don't want to accidentally reveal the truth to anyone.
