My final conclusion on Sarah Palin

Hey Kade, where'd you pick up the laundry list from? Is it intact at another site, or did you pick it up from individual sources? Either way, can you link to the sources? My dad is getting all misty-eyed about Palin, and I need to nip this crap in the bud. I think your list would certainly help cure him of his delusions, if he sees that the information is credible (though I'll have to make a few omissions, since he's basically a fiscal conservative who has otherwise fallen for the neocons on foreign and domestic policy ). Then again, he's voting for McCain no matter what, but...I'm trying to impress a whole bunch of things upon him now so I can come back later and say, "Look, I told you so. Now, will you please stop voting for the same assholes year after year?"

As a side note, it's extremely frustrating when almost your entire family is a hive of neocons all pumped up to go out and vote for McPain...and no matter what you say, they refuse to make any serious changes about the way they think about politics.

I put this list together myself from various sources... they are all real and verified... ask which specifically and I'll post the source.

You have a problem with this? A true libertarian would accept a state's right to succeed when the federal government gets in the way. (See the writings of Lew Rockwell, et. al. for more) Not that I support the McCain ticket at all, just making a point about this comment.

I'm not a true libertarian then. I do not support secession. Also, doesn't this put a kink in her "I'm very pro American" Patriotism mantra?

Libertarians don't support secession. I don't know where he got that idea from...that's why that secession party is distinctly different from the libertarian party.

I also agree that would put a kink in her "Pro-American" rhetoric.

Can we please get sources for this anti-Palin information.

I got school tomorrow and can't wait to speak the truth about Obama/Biden + Mccain/Palin and I want to make sure everythings backed up.

From article:

The woman who made this complaint about big government taking your money is the governor of Alaska. Please take a moment to look at this U.S. Census chart showing federal-government expenditures, per capita, in the 50 states. You will observe that Alaska receives about $14,000 per citizen from the federal government. That's more than any other state, and a good $4,000 more than every other state except Virginia, Maryland, New Mexico, and North Dakota. The chart is from the Census Bureau's Consolidated Federal Funds Report for Fiscal Year 2005. I skipped over the 2006 report, the most recent one available, because Hurricane Katrina put Louisiana and Mississippi ahead of Alaska that year. But that's an anomaly. Alaska held the per-capita record for sucking on the federal teat in 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, and 2000. According to the nonprofit Tax Foundation, Alaska gets back $1.84 for every dollar it pays into the U.S. Treasury—even though Alaska enjoys a higher per-capita income than 34 of the 50 states. This is a state that preaches right-wing libertarianism while it practices middle-class socialism.

Good research, Kade.

I was impressed with her persona and speech making ability but then I looked deeper.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but here's a lot of information on Sarah's positions on several important issues. This information is from Huffington's Post which I know is very liberal (yuk) but some of the videos feature her talking and so it isn't a case of someone else giving you their opinion of her. She speaks for herself.

Just scroll down this article and pick and choose which links interest you.

We support liberty and freedom in the United States...respect for our Constitution. Nowhere in the Constitution does it mention secession. I'd argue most libertarians support personal liberty for our great nation under the Constitution....not liberty by the destruction and dismantling of our nation.

She's against legalizing marijuana. That's a deal breaker at the least for any self-respecting libertarian. And she hasn't a libertarian position. Where is it? Is it with her wanting to expand public education? Is it her opposition to gay rights? I'm haing a hard time finding it.

I don't agree with half of your statements at all. I'm anti-drug period! Life is hard enough w/o having to deal with any form of drug addiction or even moderate usage. A lot of Libertarians are more conservative on many issues. I'm against gay rights and am in favor of traditional marriage. But I don't hate gays. However, I don't want that type of behavior shoved in the face of my child at any age while they're under my roof.

Public education should only be answered on the local level. As a member of the PTA, one might have a view that can be heard. Today's curriculum is what's making our children suffer in the worst way possible. They don't even know the basic fundamentals that one needs to survive in today's world! Public education needs to be more accountable. And voting no on any tax increases to the school distict is one way to do it. As many of us do!!

Most kids don't even know the true reasons of why history happend. Watching the History Channel doesn't make up for it either.

Just my 2 cents worth. This is a rebuttal, not an attack to your comment.
