After checking out the "COP WATCH" thread just posted I remembered I forgot to tell you guys about a story from the other day at my college.
I was walking to the parking lot after my class and saw 3 cops, a school administrator and 2 kids standing together and I could tell that there was a major disagreement taking place just by looking at the facial expressions.
I walked up and took out my cell phone and stood about 10-15 feet away so that I could hear and see everything but it was clear I wasn't trying to interfere.
A cop asked me to "move along" and I immediately said "this is a public community college and I am observing police action from a safe distance, I will not be moving unless you arrest me"
The look on his face was priceless lmao.... He just stared at me for a moment and then turned back to his discussion with the other people and proceeded to ignore me for the next couple minutes before leaving.
Apparently the kids were collecting signatures for a gay marriage petition and the school was trying to force them to leave because they did not want to give up their ID's to be photocopied, which the school said was their "policy". The kids had asked to see a written print out of this "policy" and the school administrator had gone to get it but of course... never came back lol...
I also started asking other kids walking by to stop and observe and a few did which made me feel better
Moral of the story?
ASSERT YOUR RIGHTS AND STAND UP FOR YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS!!!
