A friend and I are interested in helping out the campaign for Dr. Rand Paul. We're in Virginia, so we can't vote, but he's one of the few major candidates we support so I thought we'd help out any way possible.

I'm wondering if there are any Muslim supporters of Paul here or elsewhere with whom we can get in contact. I couldn't find a "Muslims for Paul" like I could for the '08 campaign so I thought I'd ask here. I kinda want to gauge the support of Muslims for Paul in KY and if there's anything we could do in particular to help.

Thanks

Abraham did a lot of Muslim outreach during the Ron Paul campaign. You could try contacting him.

Are there many Muslims in KY? Honestly, I would just do what you can as a plain old grassroots Rand Paul volunteer instead of putting your support into a sub-category.

This would unfortunately hurt more than help.

Ya, may as well be "terrorists for Rand" to some of those folks out there, lol...

OP I'd follow Josh's advice, I highly suggest you get involved promoting Rand, but just do it as a grass roots volunteer.

Exactly. Unfortunately, a "Muslim's for Paul" group would probably hurt Rand more then it would help due to the political climate right now. However, Liberty knows no social demarcations. :)

I agree with the general consensus; just be grassroots supporter and encourage your friends and anyone else you can, regardless of the their religion, to support Rand.

Soi won't do the Muslim thing exclusively . I tried searching for ways to help, but I couldn't really find anything. I'm new to political activism really so how can I help? I'm in va so I can't really do anything in person too often. Suggestions? Thanks

I would suggest that you focus your activism locally. By all means donate to Rand. But also get involved in your county GOP. See if there are any candidates for city, county, and state level offices whom you can help, and in doing that you'll simultaneously advance the career of hopefully the next Ron Paul and buid alliances that will be helpful for you when you work within the party for change. There are undoubtedly other Ron Paul supporters in your area who have somewhat of a network with one another, either left over from the 2008 campaign, or through CFL. Try to hook up with them and see if they're involved in any projects you can help with.

Under the current circumstances I think just being "American" is all Rand needs. No reason to have any sub groups identify themselves.

It is most unforntunate that the southern GOP is loaded with bigots who have been brainwashed by the Zionist media and all these staged "terror attacks"

...but thats the hand we have to play with.

The best thing you can do is to get fellow Muslims to donate to the campaign. Get the word out that Dr. Paul is a man of peace who is not controlled by the Zionists.

Just campaign for Rand as yourself, not as part of a "terra group"...
