Sabrin: I Bet You I Win The Primary
Maverick Murray Allows Sports Betting & Picks Cowboy Cal To Win Kentucky Derby
Atlantic City, NJ – New Jersey conservative Republican leader Dr. "Maverick Murray" Sabrin, the Garden State's strongest advocate of limited government and individual freedom and the front-runner for United States Senate, announced his support to eliminate the federal prohibition against Atlantic City and other casinos from around the country from accepting wagers on sports and other activities. In addition, Maverick Murray announced his prediction for the Kentucky Derby along with a special one-hour online money-bomb to wager on the Kentucky Derby.

Dr. Murray Sabrin stated, "Our Founders never envisioned the federal government deciding whether states should or should not allow sports betting. A United States Senator from New Jersey named Bill Bradley made it illegal and a United States Senator from New Jersey named Murray Sabrin is going to make it legal again. Taxpayers from across America are responding to my message to Legalize Freedom." Sabrin continued, "This is another example of the federal government getting involved where it has no Constitutional basis. It is time to get government off our backs and out of our wallets."

Donna Ward, candidate for the 2nd Congressional District running against Frank LoBiondo in the June 3rd Primary, joined Dr. Sabrin at the announcement. Donna stated, "Repealing this prohibition on sports betting is not only the Constitutionally correct approach, it will help create jobs in Atlantic City. Any time you have an opportunity to increase freedom and create jobs is a great combination." Ms. Ward continued, "Frank LoBiondo doesn't understand the message of Freedom and Liberty since he has been in Washington too long. Frank LoBiondo is out of touch with New Jersey families."

Maverick Murray announced his prediction that Cowboy Cal would win the 134th Running of The Kentucky Derby on Saturday. He also announced that every dollar that is donated to his campaign online between 2:00-3:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, May 2nd, will be wagered on Cowboy Cal to Win the Kentucky Derby. He will make the wager on Saturday when he visits Monmouth Park Racetrack and the winnings will help fund his campaign.

Maverick Murray said, "At 20-1, if we can raise just $25,000 online during this money bomb and Cowboy Cal wins the Kentucky Derby, we will have enough money to win the Primary." Sabrin continued, "If you want a more exotic wager, then try betting a triple by 'keying' Cowboy Cal with Colonel John, Gayego and Eight Belles to come in place and show. A $2 bet will cost you $12. If you win, I hope you will consider a generous donation to my campaign."

The announcement was made on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City in front of The Garden Pier at New Jersey Avenue at 3:00 p.m.on Friday, May 2, 2008.

I don't know about this... I'm kinda iffy on the whole thing.

What do you guys think?

As long as people are aware they're making the donation for that specific purpose, I think it's a pretty good publicity stunt.

Honestly.......it makes me hesitant to donate for him. Use the money to get elected FOOL, not betting on horses. The movement has far better things to do with its money.

hes not donating all his campaign funds just funds from the special 1 hour money bomb so there is full disclosure and the people who donated for it know where there money nis going

jersey is home to atlantic city a gambling mecca probly bigger than wheeling wv

so it makes sense that misguided gambling laws would be a big issue there and for the amount he could loose vs the publicity/free advert it seems like a great idea to me

+ if he wins it it will swell his coffers even more

reason why we should get mayors and city council onboard with the constitution and then get to senate, congress and so forth.

I hope we can win by going to the top BUT it is a much harder task to accomplish AND way more expensive.

I don't know what to think of the derby betting though, I would not give money for that effort I will say that. Gambling gives back just as much as drinking alcohol, it becomes addicting for some and a damn waste of money.

I know he odds are is just trying to find a legal way to get the money he needs BUT that is a huge risk to say the least.

Use the money we raise to go towards something or possibly lose it all at the races? I don't like those odds at all.

We have enough to focus on Congress and not the presidency yet. We don't have enough time to work our way up a step at a time like you're suggesting. The government may be to far gone by the time we made it into the national government and violent revolution may be inevitable by that point.

I have to say I was getting real excited when I saw Cowboy Cal out in front for the first half of the race.

Thank god Murray didn't bet on the horse that died, though. That would've been a bad omen.

Hillary bet on that horse!

Given the small amount of money Murray bet ~1000, it is clear that this was both about publicity and explaining Murray's position on the legalization of gambling. This was a great success for the campaign.
