Obviously I find the one with the best record, it is no guarantee I will make it to the ground safe, but obviously if one company only has a 1 incident per 10,000 jumps record, another 1 incident per 1,000 jumps, who do I choose?

This is how i look at it. Lets assume the crime rate for all ethnic group is equal. You live in a neighborhood of 10 people, 1 is a bad guy. Then you have 10 people moving into your neighborhood, of that 10 new people, 1 is a bad guy. So now you have to deal with 2 bad guys. The point is the total # of bad guys increase while the total # of good guys is irrelevant. The increase in # of bad guys will mean you will encounter them or deal with them more often.
