MTV News on Ron Paul

Gen X'rs are not the MTV crowd. The youngest bound of Gen X is about 27 right now. Not many employable 27 year olds watch a lot of MTV.

I beg to differ! I still love my MTV and im 30 years old with a college education and a respectable job. :D Lots of people my age and older still watch MTV. I would say that MTV and VH1 are my main stations, other than history, travel and scifi. :)

Story: Ron Paul: I'm the Republican who 'gets' young voters

...the college students in the audience weren't too happy that Paul had suggested they'd support an issue simply because it was easy to understand. I think he'd really just phrased it the wrong way...

watching it live I noticed the bad wording of the comment

i knew somebody would jump on it.

Here is the video:

Fast forward to about 3:30

His sentence was totally taken out of context... context meaning "1 : the parts of a discourse that surround a word or passage and can throw light on its meaning" as in m-w.com, and his body language and tone of voice throw light on the meaning of Dr. Paul saying that it's not complex and EVERYONE understands it. Of course this was blown out of proportion...

jesus christ they sure as hell are stupid if they think obama and clinton can create all these social programs out of thin air...he should issue a press release clarifying that not only young people but ALL people should take to his monetary policy because it is EASY to understand...UNLIKE the bullshit machinations of the FOMC and all the big investment banks...

sound money IS easy...unwinding credit default swaps and bad mortgage-backed securities not so much...

it didn't seem that bad live, it only seems bad when they take it out of context. young people don't want complicated government involvement in their lives. taking the fed and irs out of the equation makes it way simpler. I don't feel stupid when i prefer the most direct and sensible solution to a problem...

too bad all we'll hear from MSM is how RP "insulted young peoples' intelligence..."

lol, if anything, Paul overestimated their intelligence.. that was some of the heaviest policy discussion I have ever heard on a public forum debate... I mean, to the average viewer unaffiliated with Paul's message, that must have sounded like a level 2 or 3 poly sci course

But at the end of the "dialogue," Paul committed a bit of a faux-pas when he talked about why his monetary policy has caught on among many members of Generation Y. "Young people understand it because it's not complex," he said. Bad move, Congressman.

No. Bad move Caroline, this last paragraph is shit.

I can't see how obama or clinton create these social programs out of thin air by not answering "how America can afforded these social programs??" It's simply, Obama & Clinton.... do you, guys hear of "Monetary Policy". Ron Paul should issue a press release to Obama & Clinton and their supporters about Monetary policy it's easy to understand people.
