We got fifth with 10% of the vote, only 3 points behind 4th/3rd. Personally I see this as a HUGE success for a candidate who never polled above 10% nationally. Also everyone has to keep in mind that Iowans were in favor of government ethanol subsidies (cuz of the corn) and RP is obv against any type of federal subsidy. Given that, and the fact that 60% of the voters in Iowa are Evangalicals and only voted for Huckabee because of his "faith", I think this is a huge success. Not even the most hardcore Paul supporters expected him to get above 3rd in the caucus, and esentially that's what we got (a tad short).
Any Paul supporter who is gonna jump ship because of these results is an ignorant fool. We have to remember, Iowa doesn't mean anything at all, heck any one state means nothing. (CNN was reporting that back in 92 Clinton got 3% in Iowa and ended up winning the election.) We won't know ANYTHING for certain until super Tuesday. And before then we have NH and FL where Paul will score huge. Aparantly, looking on the ground those states have nothing but Paul signs in their front lawns.
Furthermore, if Paul loses (heck even if he wins) it means nothing. The RP campaign is only the beginning of a brand new liberty movement in this country. No matter what happens we can't stop bieng politically active. It's our job to elect more officials, at every level of government, who are constitutionalists. The battle for liberty doesn't end with one man, there is no one person who can defend liberty. It takes each and everyone of us, fighting to the bitter end, even if it means imprisonment or death. IT'S LIBERTY OR DEATH! IT'S FREEDOM FOR EVERYBODY OR FREEDOM FOR NOBODY!
