Great, glad you are making the move!
I'll just repost this info because it pretty much covers how to find a place to live and how to get a job in NH.
"FSP volunteers created an excellent resource for housing in NH
http://freestateproject.org/nhinfo/Housing.php The prices you quoted for a room in Manchester seem high. Once you network with people in NH, and if people tend to think you are a good person and find you to be a good roommate, you should be able to find lower rents. $350 or so for a room, even when two people share it, it not unheard of for activists in Manchester or Keene to pay (plus a share of the utilities). I pay $280 for my room and know a couple that pays less than $400 for a room, for example Clearly it takes lots of time and effort to network but
I recommend checking Roommates.com, you should find lower priced rooms than what you quoted. "
"In order to get a job in NH (or anywhere), I recommend having a local # and local address, an error free resume, short hair, no visible piercings and that you wear anywhere from dress shoes and a dress shirt to a suit to the interviews, depending on where you are trying to work. There are a lot of jobs open in Manchester / Nashua and near-by locations. FSP volunteers made this excellent source for anyone wanting a job in NH,
http://freestateproject.org/jobs As including on the FSP jobs page, the FSP has a forum section for job
http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?board=30.0 and a Facebook alert system
http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?board=30.0 which are fantastically effective when used in conjunction with classified ads from the local paper, temp agencies, sourcing agencies, craigslist and networking."
