Top tier - Liechtenstein

Upper middle - Texas, Alaska, New Hampshire

Middle - other states, Switzerland, Land of Isle. Estonia, Svalbard and possibly Singapore if you don't use drugs could be upper middle

bottom - communist and socialist countries

what am I missing? anything look off?

I am searching for the best place to live.

Idaho and North Dakota rank high in freedom as well. NH wins though. In NH you can legally dual weld AKs while walking down the street. I wouldn't want to be the guy to test it out though.

Texas would depend on where you are . I certainly would rather be where I am than to live in Houston or Dallas / Ft Worth. As an example .

Order of freest states:

The top ten were as follows:

1. Hong Kong
2. Switzerland
3. New Zealand
4. Ireland
5. Denmark
6. Canada
6. Australia
6. United Kingdom
9. Finland
10. Netherlands

I once did some in-depth research on free nations and free global areas. I found three major organizations measuring this. None really measured up. One conservative one emphasized economics and actually declared Singapore the freest place. A liberal one emphasized so-called "claim freedoms," such as "women's rights" and "healthcare rights." The third was also conservative, and emphasized safety. They totally equated safety with freedom.

You can also look at the reports called Freedom in the 50 States. They rank states on various criteria. See here: https://www.freedominthe50states.org/. I don't know how much stock I put in this any more. For example, Oklahoma ranks #2 and Ohio ranks #35. I would however, rather live in rural Ohio than Oklahoma City (rural trumping urban in my book). Although rural OK might beat rural Ohio.

I also think you sometimes need to make a stand where you live. You can move somewhere and that place drastically changes. You will see that on the Freedom in the 50 States from year to year.

I am not moving anywhere. I am tired of moving. The only place I would go is the hinterlands of the Philippines. Even that is not as great considering their dipshit leader is like Donny T. Also my relatives would track me down and ask for money. :(:D

There is no place more free to live than in your own state of mind.

Their edicts only matter to you if you subject yourself to them.

The "Republic of Mike" is the most free place on earth for me. It is not so much as a place but a state of mind. Once you get exposed to it on a personal level you will understand.

I find one's daily tendency to be subject is less the further from the population centers you get.

Agreed. (Thus, the rationale for Jefferson's agrarian approach for the Louisiana Purchase, BTW.)

That "state of mind" is harder to defend under a constant barrage of authoritarian fire. People always seem to want to impose their will on people that they don't know - and you come in contact with people you don't know all the time in population centers.

It's hard to put a good ranking to, because people value types of freedom differently. Economic, property, speech, political, etc. There are many countries which are low-ranked due to lack of one one, when they're relatively free in others.

Texas, for example, is economically very free but less free in other ways: https://www.freedominthe50states.org/overall/texas

Given that there's no 100% free state available, I think you have to prioritize and choose based upon that.

Most conservative rating systems are going to be based on economic freedoms , right to bear arms etc because these are the most infringed on types of rights in the most liberal states and the most unamerican in spirit ,

Upper middle - Texas, Alaska, New Hampshire

In the United States, you are most free from government in the bush of Alaska during winter. In real life, the rural parts of northern and central New Hampshire. Illegal immigrants are most free in urban California.

Overall, New Hampshire is rated the freest state.

New Hampshire is overall the freest state in the Union, combining relatively high scores on both personal and economic freedom.
https://www.freedominthe50states.org/overall/new-hampshire

In the United States, the most economically free state was New Hamp-shire at 8.3, followed at 8.1 by Florida. South Dakota and Texas are tied for third at 8.0. (Note that since the indexes were calculated separately for each country, the numeric scores on the subnational indices are not directly comparable across countries.) The least free state was New York at 5.7; California was slightly better at 5.9. Alaska, Hawaii, and New Mexico were tied for 46th at 6.0.

I also think you sometimes need to make a stand where you live.

Liberty activists have tried that and many other strategies for many decades. Generally, it is a very unsuccessful strategy. The same is true with the Libertarian Party strategy, and pretty much everything else that have been tried for many years.

I am not going anywhere . Where I am is rated high and rates higher in regulatory and personal than the number one state . I also am originally from here .There is no better place than here to do business in .
