Most encouraging moment here in SC

I attend college in Spartanburg,SC I wear my Ron Paul sticker on my shirt everyday have bumper stickers all over my car. I preach the message of Liberty all day. Today me and my room mate were eating at a fast food place, I saw an old man sitting there eating alone who looked interested in the Ron Paul sticker on my shirt. I sparked up a conversation with my room mate about foreign policy. I brought up the fact one of my fraternity brothers was in Afghanistan clearing out mines and he watched the guy in front of him step on one and explode into pieces. The old man jumped in and said something like "You young folks need to keep up what you're doing." then he asked something like "You mind telling me why you young folks are so stirred up over Ron Paul." I then went into campaign mode, talked about foreign policy and how the wars are destroying this country. The old man agreed with everything I said about foreign policy. And turned into a discussion about America as a whole and the man made some biblical references. He agreed when I said Ron Paul is the only man running who is speaking the truth, and is honest. This whole time I've been worried about only having the youth here in SC, and us not appealing to elderly folks. This man was 76 years old and totally open to everything I was saying and if I had to bet, I'd say I secured a vote for Ron Paul today. Add this to our huge success tonight in NH, We are going to win this election. Don't get discouraged like I was after the Caucus... KEEP ON FIGHTING

That's great, people round here are too hard on the old folks - sure they're not online all day researching the world but freedom is popular, to any age, they want a good future for their children and grandchildren just like you want a good future for yourself and your children.

Now that the media can't ignore Paul anymore, they'll come to ourside so exciting!

I know personally at least 50 people who are going to vote for Ron Paul come primary day. I hope there are others like me all over, everyone I meet and I ask about says they're voting for Paul. a month ago my room mate was calling Paul radical, and unelectable. Safe to say tonight he fully converted to a Ron Paul supporter.

One thing about older folks...they've been around the block a time or two and they can smell bullshit or the truth a mile away. Ron Paul speaks the truth. He won't be ignored any longer so people will now get a chance to hear it.

I think when the old folks see the young people getting involved in politics it gives them some hope in the younger generation. Most see the enthusiasm on TV but not face to face.

If Santorum never got that surge then he would be out with Perry & Bachmann, then SC would have been Romney, Paul, Gingrich & Huntsman which would have a 4 person debate and less choices with Newt probably winning and making this campaign much longer.

We should step up grassroots campaigning at retirement homes and places where old folks hang out. They don't use the Internet, and depend too much on the MSM. They need to be told in person. Many of them agree with Ron, they just don't know it (yet).
