Morning Joe: Ron Paul made devastating remarks on Iran

There is. It's just like 999. You have to address the unspoken real issue. The police state which the unconstitutional wars are also part of.

You know how mean they are to Ron Paul? Be just as mean as that back, or they'll believe it must be right. In other words, stand up against groping kids, drones in America, and all the rest of it.

That makes sense. Everyone jumped and clamored over the idea of 9-9-9 on the face, once it was exposed it began the downfall of Cain (which would have probably happened without the allegations).

Come on, guys. We all know that FACTS are irrelevant. It's STYLE that matters.

Yes, perfect opportunity to explain how we're rapidly turning into police state. He mayneed to connect the dots for some, but I'm guessing most people already are aware.
Ron must always connect the dots for support. Attending Tea Parties and Protests, people are pretty clueless and just follow what they are told from the Cycliops Zombizing TV machines.

Did anyone catch the segment with Newsweek Columnist Julia Reed?

How about this?

Rick Sanitarium destroyed himself on Iran. He actually suggested that the jihadists attack us and wish to kill us because we are free and prosperous, not because of our policies of bombing and killing innocent people in their lands or of establishing permanent bases in their land. He sounded like an Iran warmonger apologist crying fire in a theatre, and stirring up irrational fear among the populace and suggested that Iran should never have the ability to defend itself against all the nuclear weapons by which it is surrounded. Only warmongers should be permitted to have nuclear weapons. Only warmongers should be permitted to protect itself and defend its country. Clearly he thinks we should attack Iran before they attack Switzerland, or Norway, or any other country that is free and prosperous.

Really, should this person be allowed anywhere near the big red button?

What about Romney and Bachman with that bologna about the Islamic Caliphate taking over the world?

When I listen to that rhetoric I feel like I am watching Gullables Travels.

The big bad undefined 'Terrorist Threat' is the new boogyman, any encroachment of liberty is ok so long as someone feels safer from terrorism.

Argument by fear/emotion. If you don't support me those 'terrorists' are going to nuke us!

The best counter is laughter and scorn, which is what Ron Paul does when he reminds them of the Cuban missile crisis, which was a real threat and not imaginary like Iran.

everything he said sounded right to me. it's just media spin on the same old things he always says. immediately after his bachmann exchange (he was pretty powerful in that. I thought she was going to cry a bit lol) articles immediately came out supporting rons comments.

Christian Zionism, CBN and other groups
Pat Robertson and CBN can be seen bluntly as a CIA psychological warfare "religion", which works with military "counterinsurgency" experts to crush indigenous rights and "guerilla" groups. To crush freedom in the name of freedom, and to starve people in the name of humanitarian relief. Some of Robertson's friends in his network of "Christian charities" have privately admitted being CIA.

Julia WHO?

Got reality?

Let's talk about Pakistan

Seriously, the "on-stage" Republican candidates have put themselves in the crazy corner focusing so much war drumming on Iran.

God Bless Ron Paul for not playing the game.

Of course there will be a lot of heat from the military-industrial complex that wants to keep putting oil in their powerfull machine.. But the majority of Americans have woken up & see this machines as a lying, killing, destructive device that is destroying the great United States of America.

All the important people know Ron Paul is correct, and those who wish to profit from yet another undeclared war be it in Iran or Syria or wherever will always lie, cheat, and worse to keep their money and power.

Ron Paul needs to hammer on the point that congress, as the direct representative of the people, must declare war and unless they do any subsequent military action is not in defense of the United States but rather is an offensive war that is being waged to profit certain individuals and companies at the expense of all the rest of us.

Non declared wars are the epitome in illegal government and are one of the most evil action that governments can do, they should never be supported by any moral person no matter that you agree with the cause of the military action. If Congress can't get their collective heads out of their rears to pass a declaration of war then whatever the reason is is not important enough to send Americans to die for and to spend taxpayer money to kill innocent peoples, because innocent people always get killed in wars.

Now that the entire world has been declared a battlefield and any American citizen can be unconstitutionally taken by the military if they are suspected of being 'associated with terrorism', whatever that means, the idea of when War is justified takes on an entirely new urgency.

Most people will and do understand this, it just needs to keep being repeated.

thread winner^^^^^^^^ repeat rinse repeat! This is exactly what ron paul should say at every town meeting along with rand!

Frankly, the fear mongering was surreal. Bachmann saying that the moment Iran had a nuclear bomb, they would rush it to a missile gantry and launch it! Frankly, the neocons would have fared better against Ron's position if they had only presented a less sensationalized image of the threat, but I thought it was obvious that they were so over the top as to appear hysterical and irrational; even scary.

As usual, after the adrenaline subsides, even Ron's controversial comments will be vindicated as truthful and reasonable by a large portion of the electorate.

Look a few minutes after Ron explained his position we had Huntsman telling everyone to slow down and not jump right into a war. We had a little help up there last night, and we've been through this before. Everyone knows RP stance on Iran by now....I remember when he first talked about this everyone thought it was over with like 4-5 debates ago...

but where do our numbers go - up.

Well he's wrong.

I know of a few friends watch the debate, and I never talk about Ron Paul in a positive or negative way (hardly at all) to them. They came to the conclusion that only Ron Paul was correct about the middle east. They were absoltely SHOCKED that everyone in the crowd applauded or disagreed. Also should be known, my friends are more liberal than conservative, and they HATE Republicans.

Anyway, it didn't hurt him overall, only with true neocons, which made for the vast majority of the audience.

Rewatching it, I'm pretty sure Bachmann implied that Iran would use that one nuclear bomb to blow up every country in the world. But Ron is right, we all know he's right. Thats why we are at RPF. Call me a pessimistic troll, but I have less faith than most here that mainstream Republicans will see through the BS. Of course the media won't report on how Bachmann is incorrect on the IAEA report, and that just motivates me even more to donate and phone from home. We gotta wake people up.

when the Dixie Chicks questioned our fearless leader thah "W" they were hit with a vitriol that does not exist now.

Iran is now the wheat from chaff issue deep down and the unspoken knowledge is that easily 1/4th the GOP caucus

goers are looking for a "dove" or a skeptic to back if they are not as worried about having a balanced budget or stability.

mitt romney tends not to go beyond 25% so a three-way or four-way contest almost always hands ron paul a solid second

anyway. our almost elusive goal is being the winner in both iowa and new hampshire. time will tell how fast newt gingrich delates.

It's hard for me as a citizen of Finland - a nation that managed to stay independent next to USSR for 70 years through neutrality and diplomacy - to not think that the rest of the GOP candidates are absolutely insane when it comes to foreign policy.

I do think Paul comes off as a bit dovish on some issues.
