On Morning Joe they were all in essential agreement that Ron destroyed himself on Iran. They said he was right on Iraq and Afghanistan, but even Joe himself said he sounded like an Iran apologist and really really hurt himself with the Iran comments. The guy from the Politico Playbook misrepresented his arguments saying that he said Iran was acting in self-defense (which wasn't what he said), then further misrepresented his past comments stating he had said that these were the worst comments he has made since the Reagan debate where he suggested we "turn off the air conditioning for our troops in Iraq" (Again he never said that, he said the potential costs we could save just on air conditioning had we not been there).

Anyways, there is no denying that the perception is we really hurt ourselves with Iran and the rhetoric shouldn't have been that strong, but the extreme misrepresentation even by Morning Joe's people (and even joe himself to a degree). is not good....

We are fine. Watch the clip again, it was all applause. People already know that Ron Paul does not want to go to ware for no reason.

This is the narrative they are pushing. "Paul destroyed himself on Iran"

Obviously Fox's intent. Paul needs a counter narrative for the weekend if possible

The MSM is trying everything they can, but they are only hurting themselves. Ron Paul is right and the American people know that!

Joe is usually nice to Dr. Paul. I guess they are pushing a self fulfilling prophecy. We'll see how much it hurt him where it counts (IA, NH) soon enough.

I also think he got some things wrong about Iran and their intentions, but he is completely right about staying out of it. In any case, that's Ron Paul and that's what he believes should be said. We can only show support.

I don't even know where to start. I think this is it, we're going to war with Iran. The only question is if Paul will say I told you so before or after the election.

I cant believe this warmongering bullshit.

Iran has an insignificant military next to Israel, and even if they wanted to attack, they couldn't attack us, so why should we be the ones to stop them?

I wish he would have put his hand on the podium, hung his head for a second, then looked up and calmly said, "Guys... come on. Seriously. Iran? They do not have a nuclear weapon. They MAY develop one someday down the road. ONE. Our nuclear arsenal numbers in the THOUSANDS. Our military expenditures dwarf theirs by orders of magnitude. This rampant fear over a two-bit, marginal state in the middle east is embarrassing, quite frankly. I embrace the foreign policy of the founders: 'trade and relations with all nations, entangling alliances with none', and we should not go abroad 'in search of monsters to destroy'.

The concern trolls will be very active today.

change the frame of the debate to the police state we're getting here, and list all the specific examples, and say the foreign policy is being used as an excuse for that, and it is.

In other words he hurt himself with the truth.

Then so be it.

Dr. Paul certainly made devastating remarks, but not to himself as the Military Industrial Complex owned Media would suggest. He devastated the next revenue stream for the war profiteers with countless truth bombs and the only ones devastated are the propagandist war mongers who interestingly are all chicken hawks.

The propaganda is strong in this one.

The thing is, America has fallen for the propaganda. So when Paul tries to speak some sense, they are already too brainwashed to hear him.

Pakistan just kicked us out of their airbase, is still not letting our supplies go ino afghan & giving shoulder-fired rockets to their border guards..

YEAH, let's drum up the war drums w/ Iran.

The thing is, discussing a foreign policy topic like Iran takes more than "a minute".

These debates are a joke.

Since he never has enough time explain all the facts coherently they are easily able to make his foreign policy sound crazy to a lot of people who have been dumbed down/brainwashed with a false perception of the geo-political reality. Particularly the Fundamentalists, Christian Zionists, and other groups who have been trained to interpret things in a biblical context. These groups of people are also mostly Republicans.

Christian Zionism, CBN and other groups
Pat Robertson and CBN can be seen bluntly as a CIA psychological warfare "religion", which works with military "counterinsurgency" experts to crush indigenous rights and "guerilla" groups. To crush freedom in the name of freedom, and to starve people in the name of humanitarian relief. Some of Robertson's friends in his network of "Christian charities" have privately admitted being CIA.

HOLY TERROR (PARTS I&II) (1996)
Through an interview and an incredible documentary we take a comprehensive look at the radical Christian Right and its efforts to take over political power at all levels of society. Through information provided by undercover agents and by monitoring of Christian Coalition TV programs, the documentary shows the strategies, the deviousness, and the dangers which these people pose to secular society and civil liberties. We also review the book "Holy Terror."
