Morning Joe discussion of Rand Paul

Too bad it's coming such an inauthentic sellout. Chris Christie is...exciting? I'm sure Chris doesn't hear that very often.

Of course she looked down, paused, nervous laughter, shaking head "no" while Chris Christie-love spews from her mouth while her whole body says "no thanks". Trust me, put it on mute and watch it again. I've been rejected by my fair share of the ladies, I know when they're bullshitting and she sucks at it. I think she's lying, but I've never seen her before so I could be wrong.

You might hear people say Ron was fringe, crazy, unsavvy (although I think it was very plain he knew exactly what he was doing, Ron could have been easily as saavy as Rand if he so choosed.} Yet, no matter if it is someone who detests Ron or loves him, you'll never hear anyone say hes unintelligent or dishonest.

I honestly do not 'get' Christie. He's an overweight, arrogant, loudmouthed New England RINO. He's like an old, male version of Meghan McCain. What's the appeal to the GOP base, that allows him to currently be polling in the top tier for the Republican nomination for President in 2016?

I don't get it either. He sort of talks tough and many voters are suckers for that. Remember when Giuliani was leading the polls? It seems New England are very susceptible to these boisterous law & order types.

The media loves him because he's a "moderate" they can use to block and bash any real conservative. Moderate RINO republicans also frequently lose to their chosen democratic candidate so they love propping up another loser.

Truthfully? I think he reminds people of Tony Soprano. And I'm not making a joke here, I really think that's it.

I think it's because he's a media darling. He's been selected by tptb to, at a minimum, be a stick in the spokes, and at best, be a rival for the chosen Hillary. Believe me when I state this - Rand is not who the money power wants in the top office. He is going to have a tough row to hoe, and we are going to have to get our game on in a way we've never had to before.

This. Voters identify with his "straight talk" personality while the media enjoys contrasting his "moderate" tone with stereotypical out-of-touch Republicans.

It is the New England liberals that promote Christie and pretend that the rest of the nation cares about him. I bet if the polling were in Kentucky or Arizona or Alaska or Montana you would find that very few are impressed with the progressive Republican from New Jersey.

MSNBC = NY

Just an FYI, NY and NJ aren't New England states.

Christie is strong here, because most of the Republicans here aren't really Republican or do not any attention. Many are simply desperate for 'a win.' You'll find better Republicans in a few of the Democratic voters here. That's how bad it is. The same goes for NY.

Yup. They don't like wimpie men. But, to me, he just comes off as a bully.
