An online petition calling for the closure of Tennessee haunted house is gaining traction, claiming that the 'extreme haunt' is actually a 'torture chamber under disguise.'

The petition 'Shut down McKamey Manor' aimed at the Summertown destination has gained more than 77,000 signatures since it was created by Frank Towery.

'They do screenings to find the weakest, most easily manipulated people to do the "haunt", he explained in the petition. 'If Russ doesn't think you're easily manipulated, you aren't allowed to go.'

Apparently they had a "safe word" agreement that people could quit if they say the safe word. Some people claimed they said their safe word many times for several minutes and they didn't let them go. One guy they let go, finally, because they thought he was dead. Allegedly.

Whether a waiver prevents a (successful) suit depends on what was waived and what happened.

From the article there appears to be a breach of contract going on. People are told if they give there "safe words" they'll be allowed to leave...but sometimes they are not. Technically that's false imprisonment instead of kidnapping. Kidnapping is someone taking you somewhere against your will. False imprisonment is someone preventing you from leaving.
