There is still time for donations to be useful to Liberty Candidates running in OK, the primary is June 24th. We have a slate of excellent candidates running, probably more candidates than any other state in this election:

US Senate: Randy Brogdon (open seat)
http://randybrogdon.com/

US Congress district 3: Robert Hubbard (primary challenger to frank lucas)
http://hubbardforcongress.com/
https://www.facebook.com/hubbardforcongress

US Congress district 4: Anna Flatt (primary challenger to tom cole) (also, see comments below)
http://annaflatt.com/
https://www.facebook.com/ElectAnnaFlatt

Governor: Dax Ewbank (primary challenger to the Drone Queen) (also, see comments below)

State Senate district 22: Mark Thomas (open seat)

State House district 61: Kenny Bob Tapp (open seat)

State Senate district 28: Michael Ballard (open seat)
This candidate only has a FB page (don't have a link to it, I don't do FB, sorry). Although not a "100% pure" liberty candidate like the others above, he is still miles ahead of the State Rep that is trying to step up into this seat. This State Rep is a closet liberal, working for the surveillance industry in some capacity (he doesn't seem to want to mention exactly what he does or who he works for) and backed by the education lobby / teacher's unions). Ballard is a tea party type running as a strict Constitutionalist.

There may even be more candidates I do not know about, perhaps one of our other resident Okies can add a candidate or two to this list. The biggest disappointment is there is apparently no Liberty Candidate running for the US CD5 open seat - or is there? I see this as the largest missed opportunity in this midterm election. None of the candidates running have any major name recognition or visibility, so another "outsider" candidate would have been very much so on equal footing.

Additional comments on Dax Ewbank: Dax is one of our Parking Lot Delegates. I first met Dax at an antiwar rally (Syria) last summer, where he was open carrying and wearing a "Ron Paul Parking Lot Convention" shirt. Of course, we immediately introduced ourselves. When SB2116 was introduced in the state legislature and was going through the committee hearing, I was at the capitol that day handing out a conservative argument (this legislation was introduced by one of the most liberal democrats in the state legislature, who I will admit that I've gotten to know and like on a personal level, as she's one of the honest Kucinich type liberals) in favor of the legislation to the members of the committee. I happened to run into Dax, who was handing out a religious argument in favor of the legislation, lol. In addition, he also did an excellent job of calling out wankford on his vote against the Amash Amendment (see video below). Dax is truly a great activist, and a beautiful human being! He is not accepting donations directly, apparently someone has set up a PAC to take donations for him and print yard signs. Dax is campaigning his ass off, making many, many appearances all over the state and getting an excellent response. People are very fed up with the Drone Queen, and it looks like we have a real shot at getting a Ron Paul supporter into the Governor's office here in OK!

Here's Dax in action, calling out wankford on his vote against the Amash Amendment:

I do not know much about Anna Flatt, other than what is on her website, that she is also running a grassroots campaign and refusing donations (Perhaps the PAC handling donations for Dax is also supporting her? Again, I do not know much of anything about this yet, and hopefully another of our resident Okies can shed some light on this, or how donations can be gotten to her), and is a Ron Paul supporter. From her campaign website:
Examples of other libertarian leaning Republicans include Thomas Massie, Justin Amash, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and Barry Goldwater.
In 2012, as a national delegate to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, I had to break my pledge in order to keep my word by casting my vote for Ron Paul rather than Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee.

I finally got my yard sign for Dax yesterday, along with a Brogdon bumper sticker (trying to get a yard sign as well - his campaign materials seem difficult to get, I'm told that lack of funds / donations has caused a shortage) and window decals for Dax and Anna Flatt. Thought I'd share, so here's a few pictures:

Hopefully I didn't screw up posting the pictures, lol. If they don't work right the first time, I'll go back and edit, might have to play around with them a bit. I will also go back and edit in the FB links where I do not have them, I'm waiting for someone to pass them along to me (since I don't do FB).

Edit: I'm told that the PAC mentioned above is only associated with Dax's campaign, and is run by an activist in the Tulsa area who I do not personally know. Unable to get the FB links not posted above for some candidates, but if you have FB they shouldn't be difficult to find at all.

An additional candidate to add to the list:
State Senate district 48: Duane Crumbacher
No campaign website yet, only has FB at the moment. Duane is unopposed in the primary, and just sort of quietly filed at the last minute. Not sure if he is a Parking Lot Delegate or not (never bothered to ask), but as I personally know him from other liberty efforts, there is no question that he is also a Ron Paul supporter and solid Liberty Candidate. His district is gerrymandered to lean slightly democrat (about 55%, if I'm correct) as a swing district, and his general election opponent will probably be a horrible democrat trying to step up from being a State Rep. This is an open seat being vacated by a Kucinich type liberal democrat who is running for the US Senate. This election will be an uphill battle for Duane, but IS winnable, and his likely general election opponent has an awful record. A strong campaign could very well push this excellent candidate over the top and add yet another Ron Paul supporter to the OK state legislature.

Got my Brogdon yard sign yesterday! Since I am in Duane's district, I can't wait to add a sign for him to this nice little collection:

Governor Drone, go on home! We need Dax in the capitol dome!

This comes from Dax Ewbank:
Over the next week I will be traveling to Boise City, Tahlequah, Lawton, Norman, Grove, Alva, and Fairview. That's around 2000 miles since I have to drive back most night to go to work the next day. The gas fund is starting to run a little low, so anything you could pitch in will keep me on the road! It really does help!

I've kicked in $20. How many of you will match me?

Dax is campaigning his ass off, and we need to keep him on the road. Here's a video of him on the campaign trail, notice that as usual, he's open carrying :)

There is still time for donations to be useful to Liberty Candidates running in OK, the primary is June 24th. We have a slate of excellent candidates running, probably more candidates than any other state in this election:

There are around 150 excellent candidates running in New Hampshire, and that's just for the New Hampshire House. There are also great candidates running for other positions in NH from sheriff to governor.

But, the primary is about to happen in OK so good luck to the great folks running in OK!

Friday we had a little goings on at the capitol. There weren't very many of us there besides the family and Dax. Two tv stations covered it. I did see the video from one (which appears to have already fallen down the memory hole), and they edited all the good stuff out. The other is here, but my computer won't let me watch it because I don't have flash installed, perhaps someone can "fix" it:
http://kfor.com/2014/06/20/family-confronts-governors-office-fighting-for-babys-health/
Two months ago the mother, Brittany Hardy-Warrior, confronted the governor in public.

She says one of the governor’s aides, Cody Inman, told her he’d set up a time to listen to their case, but it never happened.

So, the family showed up at the governor’s office to hand over her daughter’s medical records that show baby Jaqie’s seizures went from more than 150 a day to eight a day after using cannabis oil.

There was also another video shot of the entire event, but it has only been circulated on FB and I have not found it on youtube yet. If I can get access to it, I'll be glad to update this post.

Here's a couple pictures from afterwards:

And here's another campaign speech I hadn't seen yet:

We have three Liberty Candidates that are still in play. Duane Crumbacher was unopposed in the primary, so he's running for the general and is already receiving donations. He'll have an uphill battle, as his district is gerrymandered to lean democrat. His general election opponent is an awful statist democrat trying to move up from the State House. Mark Thomas and Kenny Bob Tapp both made runoffs, as reported in their respective threads. I don't know the word on how KBT's opponents look, but Mark's runoff opponent is backed by the chamber of commerce, who was running radio ads on her behalf. Expect a lot of money to be thrown against Mark in the runoff, and that most likely will hold true for KBT as well. All three of these candidates could use donations and support. All are solid Liberty Candidates and Ron Paul supporters. All are viable and actually have a chance to win, as just proved by the primary. Here's how everyone else fared:
http://www.news9.com/category/193017/election-results

US Senate
wankford 57% 152,658 votes
shannon 34% 91,772 votes
Randy Brogdon 5% 12,924 votes
This one was a shocker for me. I personally thought it would be shannon beating wankford in a runoff. Polls had showed shannon only slightly ahead of wankford. I'm very surprised that wankford won outright, with a commanding margin. Randy Brogdon did not overperform his poll numbers, as he was expected to do. The results here were an absolute worst case scenario, but at least we got shannon out of the state legislature. Also noteworthy here are the democrat primary results:
Johnson 44% 71,402 votes
rogers 35% 57,557 votes
hayes 21% 33,908 votes
Kucinich type liberal Connie Johnson is in a runoff, and came close to winning outright. If she wins the democrat runoff, then even she would be a better choice than wankford in the general. There is also an L and an I or two in the general who have never held office and thus have no record, I'm now looking into seeing who these people really are. Surely I will end up writing more on this race later, as I cannot and will not give my vote to wankford, under any circumstances.

CD3
lucas 83% 54,816 votes
Robert Hubbard 12% 7917 votes
murray 5% 3442 votes

CD4
cole 84% 40,762 votes
Anna Flatt 16% 7510 votes

Governor
fallin 76% 199,907 votes
moody 15% 40,804 votes
Dax Ewbank 9% 23,999 votes
Note that moody wasn't even a serious candidate, and all but admitted that his campaign was a publicity stunt for his law firm. He was actually campaigning by telling his supporters to vote for Dax. I did manage to snag one of his campaign signs on the way home last night, it's got a big picture of a pot leaf and a gun on it and says "Vote God, Grass & Guns!" (yes, I will share a picture of it). Here's a story I happened across while looking for the vote totals: http://www.news9.com/story/25861955/inhofe-wins-gop-nomination-in-okla-us-senate-race
Gov. Mary Fallin has defeated two pro-marijuana challengers to win the Republican nomination in her quest for a second four-year term as Oklahoma's chief executive.

Fallin defeated Oklahoma City criminal defense attorney Chad Moody and libertarian-leaning Dax Ewbank of Guthrie in Tuesday's Republican primary. The win sets up a November general election matchup against Democratic state Rep. Joe Dorman of Rush Springs and two independents.

Both Moody and Ewbank made their support of legalized marijuana an issue in the campaign, but Fallin said she opposed even the medicinal use of the drug.
On the democrat side, dorman was unopposed. He's a blue dog type who has a record as a tax cutter and being strong on 2A issues. He has so far refused to articulate a position on prohibition. According to the various state legislative scorecards, he ranks alongside of and is just as "conservative" as most of the middle ground so-so Republicans in the state legislature. Again, this election is going to be similar to the US Senate election in the general, where a democrat may very well end up being better than the Republican candidate. I certainly cannot and will not give my vote to fallin under any circumstances.

State Senate district 22
bice 37% 3,375 votes
Mark Thomas 33% 3,012 votes
francel 30% 2,685 votes
Our best showing for a Liberty Candidate, percentage-wise. Onward to the runoff!

State Senate district 28
smalley 57% 3,272 votes
williams 16% 913 votes
dobry 13% 768 votes
Michael Ballard 8% 466 votes
mashek 6% 329 votes
Another worse case scenario result. A closet liberal, smalley works in the surveilence industry and is backed by the education lobby and chamber of commerce, so it would have been nice to get him out of the state legislature but he moves up instead. Hopefully Michael Ballard will stick around on the scene and run again.

State House district 61
murdock 36% 1,566 votes
Kenny Bob Tapp 25% 1,072 votes
moore 17% 721 votes
elder 12% 532 votes
swager 11% 464 votes
Our next best showing for a Liberty Candidate, percentage-wise. Onward to the runoff!
