On Tuesday, July 15th, a truckload of farm products being driven to a pick-up location was stopped by the Michigan Department of Agriculture. See write-up here.
They said it was for raw milk. No wait, it's for transporting eggs and honey for sale without a food transport license. No wait, it's for non-milk milk-products (Yogurt, kefir, butter).
No matter what the theft of these products was for, there is a "seizure order" on the truck - meaning that they taped it shut and ordered no one to open it, no matter what is inside (just like Vernon Hershberger's freezers), and no matter if there are products unrelated to any charges of legal wrong-doing.
Luckily the farm was able to retain their truck - we'll see if they can save any of the $5000 worth of co-op member's food that's inside...
There's a number in the link to the State Agency responsible for this, an early morning call flood may be in order.
