More Maine Caucus Corruption: 'We don't want your type in our delegation'

Below is an interview with Andrew Ian Dodge, now a candidate for the U.S. Senate speaking to Michelle Anderson from the North of Bangor Blog about Charlie Webster and the Maine Republican caucus fiasco. Dodge has left the Republican party over the fiasco and is running for Senate. You can listen to the first part of the interview here:



At about 1:30, he explains that a friend witnessed one chairman of a caucus ask for volunteers to be delegates. When three people stood up who were wearing Ron Paul stickers, the chairman told them 'he didn't want their type in the delegation'.

There was a meeting over the weekend in Maine which discussed whether or not Charlie Webster should remain the Maine Republican Party Chairman. The committee voted to keep him:

A thread about the meeting was deleted from the 'As Maine Goes' forum at the OP's request - Matt McDonald, a chairman of one caucus who noticed the results recorded by Webster did not match the ones he had given. His caucus had been won by Ron Paul:

I truly wish I could say this behavior from the party insiders was a surprise.
This is an object lesson in why getting grassroots and going local to take every office for liberty candidates and push the Status Quo GOP out of elected positions needs to be comprehensive and on going at all levels and in all states.

We may be able to find common ground with many GOP voters but don't expect much beyond basic civility (and sometimes not even that) from the majority of party insiders.

Why the hell show up with Paul stickers? Of course, they shouldn't have been treated like that but why do it in the first place when you know this is likely to happen? Just be a "regular Republican", I hope our delegates remember such things in the future

They don't seem to have any grasp of what they're up against - they're blind to the fact that they are surrounded by hacks....... the biblical concept "be wise as serpents" is completely alien to them.

How is being "very transparent" for Paul going to work? They will not vote for you. Just say you are for Mitt so you can become a delegate for him and switch your vote on the 2nd or 3rd vote in FL.

That's a great argument - call people who witness common sense and who actually act in the interest of winning "collectivists."

Frankly, it doesn't matter who gets involved if they're not going to conduct themselves properly.

We were all very transparent when I attended my county convention as a delegate two weeks ago. And Ron Paul swept ALL the delegates. Also, the Chair and Vice Chair of the county GOP are overt Ron Paul supporters.

At my county convention in Linn County Iowa, I dressed up in business casual attire and didnt wear any stickers or buttons and I got the respect one would normally get at these functions. To show up, overly zealous to support a particular candidate can be seen as a bit of a slap in the face to people that don't support said candidate. I didn't see people wearing any other gear at the convention but some of the other Paul supporters sporting their T-shirts.

There's a time and a place for wearing your team colors, but at a convention, people should dress professional if they want to be treated as such.

bottom line your going to have to pledge for paul or make a huge las vegas gamble which = loss .If we do not pledge during state. Threy are going to attempt to assign you to someone else. that is called gambling . gambling is not the way to win. Hell i am the biggest ron pauler out there in colorado and they made a typo saying i was U=unpledged , How Cute. this is not a big deal at county level but once at state. You better Pledge or you're basically gambling for ron paul. gambling is not good. if there is only one vote. then you just screwed the movement. up to you folks but i am not going to national to vote for status quo on a first vote no matter what folks think is best.

No, this is *wrong*. We need to work on the context that we exist and operate in the realm of reality - not some idealistic, imaginative scenario where the entire media, GOP elite, and culture is already on our side.

If we want to make our message mainstream, we need to play by the mainstream's rules. And remember: that strategy is working.

neutral words to use, irregularity, inconsistent, deviation, anomaly, discrepancy, peculiarity, or my favorite incongruity. The goal is to state deviations from what would seem to be the normal, simply an observation but not a judgement.
So the goal is a counter psyop aimed at popular opinion to make people angry at the establishment for mistreatment of Ron Paul and his supporters. The current psyop/meme that the media has is aimed at making the Paul supporters look like bad people for taking part in the delegate process. If there are past situations like this of some group taking charge then we could change the perception. preferably this group is well known and had liberty minded intentions.
