This was the first debate in which Dr. Paul was treated fairly and given equal time. He did very well and stood completely apart from the warmongers moneywasters. The Heritage Institute and AEI are likely not very pleased. I know that Romney was not pleased.

I don't want to kick all of the illegals out. How do you propose we do it? What's the cost of deporting millions of people? Where is THAT money going to come from? Who's going to mow my lawn when they're all gone? I don't want a review board, but the INS should be able to make exceptions and provide alternatives to people who've been here from a young age and/or are employed in this country.

There needs to be a path to citizenship, and we need to remove all of the welfare incentives. We also don't need to interfere with state sovereignty on this issue. Arizona and Texas will have different ways of dealing with the issue.

Newt was far from perfect on this issue, and he's very bad on most other issues, but compared to some of the other candidates he was being very reasonable.

How they will leave - Remove all those incentives to which they are not entitled and for which we pay. They will leave in droves.
Path to cititzenship - Front door, English language, follow the existing rule of law
Possible path of redemption - Military service for individuals
Legalize drugs and tax them to destroy the underground drug economy.

I do feel empathy for the otherwise good illegals, but they broke our laws.

In large part, Mexico is sending us their criminals, not their highly qualified workers.

I find it unbelievable that we are in a position of having to import engineers, computer experts, etc. from out of the country. In fact, it is a lie. It is just that companies here do not want to pay the salaries for American workers; they want cheap labor. If it is over priced, that is one thing, but I am willing to wager there are thousands of these highly qualified Americans out of work today because of the importation policies.
If we are so lacking in highly qualified workers, with all the universites and technical institutes and still they are unqualified, then that speaks volumes of the failure of the socialist education system here.

you mean violence created by the drug war that he suggested we cease insigating? or the 5% unemployment rate and rising standard of living in Mexico? If we were to end the drug war, Mexico just may become an opportunity rather than a problem.

CNN smartly realized (unlike CBS) if they wanted an actual "debate" on foreign policy they needed to give time to Ron Paul and there was no way around this. And Wolf, to his credit and unlike other CNN debate moderators (John King and Anderson Cooper) did not bog the debate down in trivial nonsense.

I thought the debate last Saturday with Frank Luntz was cheesy.

This one was much more professional, and not only because they allowed Ron more time, although that was a MAJOR factor. : )

We really need to create a narrative. The mainstream media has this narrative about the danger of terrorism and how we need to lose all of our liberties without question. When Ron questions these notions, they put out stories that say "oh he will never fit in the mainstream."

So to sum up:
1. Mainstream media creates narrative that terrorism is dangerous and we SHOULD lose liberties and get molested by the TSA
2. Ron Paul says that is unnecessary
3. Mainstream media says he cannot appeal to the mainstream

How we can fight this:
1. Leaving comments on existing news stories
2. Writing our own stories
3. Emailing journalists.

Looks as though Gingrich is calling direct attention to his support of Reagan's amnesty twenty-five years or so ago. If so, it seems a rather "in your face" challenge to the American voters. If he should win the nomination, the question of amnesty will be a moot point in the future and our borders might be swarmed with illegal immigrants.

Since none of the neocons really want to secure the borders, this might be the final straw in our loss of sovereignty and a grand new NAU.
