Montana gun group says McCain not worthy

Associated Press
Sept. 12, 2008

HELENA - The Montana Shooting Sports Association says principled voters should vote for Ron Paul over John McCain or Barack Obama.

But the gun group recognizes such votes for Paul could help Barack Obama as the Democrat seeks to challenge in Republican strongholds like Montana.

The group gave Republican John McCain a D in its scorecard. Obama got an F. Paul, on the ballot under the Constitution Party banner in Montana, got a A from the group.

But the MSSA says "pragmatic" voters should choose McCain, because he is not as bad on gun issues as Obama.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer, a Democrat, has predicted that many die-hard gun voters will turn away from the Republican ticket of McCain and choose a third party candidate.

Paul says he wants his name removed from the ballot, a move election officials aren't sure can be made at this point.

All but 5 of our counties have already printed the ballots with Dr. Paul's name on them. Thank god too, because I was so disillusioned yesterday when I heard the news Ron had requested to be removed from the ballot and that I wouldn't be able to vote for him.

They will take your guns away!

Don't feel sorry for Montanans....80% of them voted for McCain in the June primary.

Won't feel sorry when McBama restricts their guns...pro-2nd amendment candidates Barr or Baldwin won't win their state...next time they'd better learn how to vote.

Not quite, Skippy.

If you look at the caucus results from February 5th when THE PEOPLE voted, you will see that Dr. Paul beat McCain in 26 of the 56 counties (Romney won most of the rest). This, I believe is much more accurate than the primaries. You can see the county by county play at http://montanacampaignforliberty.wordpress.com
