I agree with the negative images asscociated with the word revolution. It makes me think of violence and more war, just what people do not want. Even though the word LOVE is highlighted in it, I don't know if people notice that is what is spelled if you read it backwards at a quick glance.
I agree, it does create a hippy type feel and that too turns older conservatives like my dad off. My dad still calls John Lennon a kook and trouble maker.
The revolution thing just seemed to take off and become to big now to try to change. If it's not broke, don't fix it. His support is growing with it. Those that feel it best represents them should keep using it.
My concern is, if kept with the revolution image soley, will his support stop growing when all revolutionary types are reached? I think they still make up the minority.
We can also come up with something more wholesome, inspirational and uplifting to resonate with a different type of person.
(not sure how to appeal to a neo con voter and stay true to representing RP)
Image concepting for Paul is tough because his following is truly very diverse.
Typically, with a product, you have a target market and want your promotional imaging to be something they want to identify and asscociate themselves with.
In this case, our target market is ALL of the U.S. citisens old enough to vote.
Either branch off catering to what appeals to smaller segments of society OR, find something people universally want to identify and asscociate themselves with.
Thats tough. I'll think on it overnight.
Branching off may be best. Beat them at their own game. It would be like how one comapnay owns 10 different brands of soda or media. Divide and conquer does seem to work.
Pauls political philosophies are difficult to sum up. The word U.S. Constitution, alone does it. The problem is, few Americans seem to know what is in it and more importantly WHY it was put there.
I appeal best to the asscociations with the Founding Father and Thomas Jefferson.
ABC did a poll for the 4th of July and found that the Founding Father are still very Popular with Americans. I don't think you can go wrong there.
Sometimes, I think of adding him to Mt Rushmore with a slogan that says,
Time for Another President We can truly Honor and Respect.
Mostly, the Ron Paul experience for me FEELS like-
" A breath of Fresh Air, In a Polluted Political Environment.
That may be a Universal One.
I do know that with sales, you have to get to peoples emotions, to get them to take action. I think its better to get them to FALL IN LOVE with Pauls message, honesty, sincereity and integrity then work to get them to HATE, the actions of his opposition.
True, Paul is Hope for America. The downside to me of using that, is that it has been used in presidential campaigns before and things are getting worse. I think, people
may asscociate that Slogan with "same old meaningless rhetoric to get elected"
The other tough challenge if you go with Americana is that, people are not feeling to proud of being Americans anymore and there is growing distrusts of everything the flag and statue of Liberty, now stands for- War Mongering and Big Spending for Oil.
Many challenges to coming up with effective marketing to break through to the brainwashed mainstream, without loosing the integrity Paul stands for.
Oh well, just brainstorming here and glad to see others see that the revolution, may turn some off and may only take Pauls campaign so far.
