Good point. You know, on the internet like-minded people are able to converge together and build communities based on common interest and associations. Why shouldn't this trend expand to the physical world?

The problem is that a libertarian nation would attract so much business, colonization and commerce it would be subverted from within because of the economic incentives for doing so and to suppress the competition it would be to the power structures and markets of the other imperial mercantile nations. It couldn't just be "left alone" because it would exceed every other country and cause a trend towards similar governments because others would want to emulate it and then...

Oh wait, that all already happened.

By the way, you do realize you could fit the entire population of the world inside the state of Texas and still have 100 sq. feet per person right?

There's plenty of room and resources for much more population, its just that we have global beurocracies controlling vast areas of land and making them off limits to free human use and expansion.
