MN State GOP Convention Thread

Obviously, you can tell the campaign was there because if they weren't there wouldn't have been any mercy shown to that liar for backstabbing Ron Paul. They're there, I'm not and it's their call. But man oh man I would have killed to have been there to deliver the coup de grace to Michele Bachmman. Now that would have made headlines.

I wouldn't be as mad about it I'd Bachmann would have had the courtesy of actually showing up to the convention today...

It's still pretty good that she'll be able to be a delegate only because Ron Paul graciously allowed her to. That says alot about where the support is.

I wonder if three days of rubbing elbows and partying with Paul supporters can change some of her views. Maybe she comes out of it a better person and a better elected official. In any event, congrats to the "chaos slate"! Woot!

yup. There will be 32 Ron Paul supporters, Michele Bachmann, and 7 other people hanging out in Tampa for a week. (and alternates). In Maine it's 20 Ron Paul supporters, Governor Paul LePage, and 3 others (and alternates).

she pretends to be one of us whenever she feels like it. Reading Mises on the beach, remember?

So let me get this straight..

Soft final count: Ron 32, Mitt 0, Santy 2, Gingrich 1..where are the other 5 delegates accounted?

I think she needs to be reminded 4,352 times a day until Tampa that the only reason she is going is because of us.

Letting Bachmann go was a good move. Now if Romney tries to invalidate the delegates he would be going after Bachmann.

I would like to get excited but with the way Arizona has....
will just wait till Tampa hope for good news ;)

Just so people know, the MN convention will adjourn automatically at 5:00PM. It will not require a vote for the chairman to adjourn the meeting at that time.

I was commenting yesterday about the confusing rules about platform resolution voting. Clearly the delegates at the convention do not understand them either LOL.

EDIT: I'm assuming the committeeman/woman/electors have not been voted on yet. Can anyone confirm this?

Someone needs to make a motion to suspend the rules in order to take up the matter of committeeman, committeewoman, and electors out of order (2/3 vote required). If only 1/2 of people wish to do this, a motion to table every motion between now and the desired business can be made, but obviously for platform resolutions it will take a while to table all the motions.
