That is awesome. I was at the first C4L rally in St. Louis and this happened to me. I was going back to my room and I heard a familiar voice coming around the corner, and lo and behold it was Ron Paul. It was getting late (after 10 pm) but I was able to get a quick picture with him. It unfortunately was one of the most awkward of my life. :-(
It was a bit funny though because his key card for his room got messed up and so while the guy he was with was trying to get it to work, I got to quickly chat with Ron in the hallway. And when done I couldn't get to sleep as I was way too excited. I did hear him leave for his early flight the next morning at about 4:30. He is one spry guy.
Convention is definitely not 53% liberty. I'd estimate closer to 40%. Kurt Bills had the endorsement of almost 40 state congressman/senators. A number of conservative activists were Bills supporters. One exampe Joyce and Greg Peppin. Joyce is a legislator with 100% rating from the taxpayers league. They are definately not liberty, but we have partnered with the Peppins before. We agree on 80-85%.
Either way, we have a great chance to grab a sizable portion of the 13 delegates tomorrow. The state central meeting after the regular convention selects the committee man and woman. We have a good chance of keeping Pat Anderson a likely Paul supporter. No one is running against the committeeman, a well liked all around good guy.
The co-chairs of the convention are definitely not RP people. That quoted tweet is not about MN.
I hope this clears things up.
Anyway, 2012 is far and away better than 2008. Liberty is winning hearts and minds in MN.
Heading back out for more celebrating. I'll be back in touch tomorrow or Sunday. 900+ happy liberty lovers celebrating in the dowtown of a town of 65,000. Good times! Nothing like the company of hundreds of liberty lovers to lift ones spirits.
So, do we know if the 'unity' breakfast was different from the Ron Paul Kurt Bills breakfast? Because it says it was 'packed'.
And Bachmann is on the 'unity slate' for Romney?
Interesting.
I hope our folks there are noticing that. To bad it is AFTER they voted to endorse her at her CD convention.
Day 2 of #mngop convention underway in St. Cloud.
