If you look at this Intrade chart, it's easy to see that Mitt's "value" sunk after the December 10 debate when he made the $10,000 bet with Perry. I think that his soft spot is that he is one of the "filthy rich" who many think have destroyed America. To bring him down, this is what needs to be targeted: That he fired people to help corporations make a profit, that he is worth $250 million, that he left America for France during the Vietnam era, that he is backed by Wall Street, etc...In a word, he's privileged.

Just my opinion.

I have yet to meet anyone who truly likes Mitt Romney. If anyone claims they will vote for him its because they are settling for best of a few evils. On the other hand Ron Paul's voters would die for the opportunity to vote for him. Herman Cain supporters were also truly passionate about him, but I do not see passion for anybody else.

The reason nobody like Mitt is he's just a putz. The born-into-money frat boy who slightly beneath the surface believes he is better than you. People prefer that Mitt stay away from their BBQ's. Look at the last few general elections and watch how the loser is the one who would be less fun at your BBQ.

Obama or McCain? McCain's not really a putz like Romney, but much of the country though Obama was as cool as Elvis.
W or Kerrey? Kerry's a putz.
W or Gore? Gore's a total putz.
Clinton or Dole? You can catch more flies impersonating Elvis than advertising ED cures. Maybe Dole was cool in 1945.
Clinton Bush? Bush is a putz. Very similar to Romney.
Bush or Dukakis? Dukakis is an even bigger putz.
Reagan or Mondale? Mondale's a putz.
Reagan or Carter? Carter's a putz who has turned out to be a really nice old man after his presidency. Plus Reagan was pretty cool.

Putz' never win. Romney has no chance against Obama. I really don't think Romney wins many primaries either. When it comes to real people voting, his poll numbers
are going to tank.

Paul vs Obama? Neither is a putz. Would be a very interesting election between two guys who I would love to have at my BBQ.

I hate this argument because Romney's achievements are much higher than the other candidates so he deserves it.

He graduated in the top 10% of his Yale law school class, and he founded one of the most successful companies on earth. Staples, among others was a startup Bane funded, and it wouldn't exist today without Mitt Romney.

So yes Romney may have grown up privileged but he didn't squander anything. Not only that but he lived a conservative lifestyle by any scale you measure by if that's important to you. Paul's achievement outside of politics might be in the top 1-3% or so of the population. Romney's achievements are more like the top 0.01% of the population.

...just saying.

Did Romney serve in the military? Was he nearly an olympic athelete? Did he deliver 4000 babies? Has he sparked a revolution and cured the apathy of countless Americans? Has he inspired people to enter politics to change things for the better? Do people make videos because of the passion for liberty he invokes in them? Has he led the charge as a lone wolf against the endless wars, loss of our liberties, and the Fed?

There are a lot of ways to measure achievement. I say Romney's pales in comparison to Paul's.

...just sayin'.

In terms of attacking Mitt Romney for being "privileged" because he is rich, Romney has a lot of achievements that make him deserving. That's the real point being made. Besides, inspiring people and sparking a revolution and whatnot is kinda on the "inside of politics" deal. You're both correct, though.
