You can always know when the Paulinista Mafia is around because the actual thread is only very rarely, if ever, even mentioned. Kinda like what very little Paul knew of Jesus.
Silly Sola_Fide post score +1.
Thank you for your very typical totally worthless OFF TOPIC thread bump post. May I please have another?
OFF TOPIC BS Paulinist malarkey posting: Noted.![]()

Actually you are the one arguing for a Paulinist position here because Marcionism (the position your are defending through Renan and these other crypto-Gnostic quacks) proposed making Paul Epistles superior to the synoptic Gospels and also wanted to get rid of the entire Old Testament and also wasn't terribly keen on James' Epistle either. Your idol Bart Ehrman has actually noted Marcion's obsession with Paul's teachings to the point of arguing that Paul's theology was not only different from the OT (it's not, just to be clear) but superior to everything else because of this illusive discontinuity.
Again, research first, assertions second. And no, brainless snark is not a substitute for actual research.
The thread topic is a question. DUH!

Even if it did, why do you think it helps to quote from a book that the person you are talking to doesn't acknowledge as an authority?
Because the authority of scripture doesn't terminate on the opinion of a lone quack with a computer, maybe?
Could I throw in Alex Jones tooAlso, Glenn Beck is renowned for doing what you are doing, namely making a bold faced assertion with zero evidence to back it up and then simply putting a question mark at the end of it in order to avoid accountability for making irresponsible arguments.
Whether or not Christianity came out of Mithraism doesn't really have anything to do with whether or not there is a God.

Maybe it doesn't, but parroting scripture to a non-Christian who is already fully aware that the Bible claims non-believers are fools, is an exercise in futility and serves no purpose to communicate anything, other than to demonstrate the need of the parrot to reinforce his own belief through repetition.
If Christianity is not true, then that would not necessarily be the case because Christianity is what is claiming it in the first place. Hence, the reason why the truth of Christianity is independent from the truth of whether or not a God exists.Yes it does, because there is one God who reveals Himself in a particular way, and the other gods are idols that cannot save.
Yes, because God is speaking directly to him (and you). Furthermore, he knows (and you know) that what the Bible says is true, and you are suppressing it in unrighteousness. This is also in the Bible, in Romans 1.
The article in the OP is not a question, it lends undue credence to a tin-foil conspiracy theory known as Christ Myth Theory. The minute that you dignify nonsense by giving it equal treatment to actual scholarship, the entire human race loses, regardless of what personal gains you think you've made by doing so.
