Missouri Caucus Results [MOD: MULTIPLE County victory details; MUST READ for all]

freaking amazing! anyone have the final tally for all of Missouri?

We swept Phelps county too - we got all 17 delegates to both the state and district (8) convention. We had some alternates, but not many.

I'm in Fl and all we could do was go to the polling station and push a button on the machine.

Not true! Contact your local meetup, or the campaign HQ directly. They are DESPERATE for delegates in some parts of Florida. You can still have an important role to play!

wait there are 115 counties in MO? How are we claiming we might have won MO?

Well, according to The Daily Paul, we got 5 of the most populous counties. Hundreds of delegates. Hopefully the other counties will do similarly well.

Props to the Paul campaign for orchestrating this, and to Debbie Wells and all of the county organizers and Meetup groups!

I'd also like to add that as the Ron Paul supporters were heading to the caucus site in Phelps County, we heard the press release that was released earlier via email on the radio. This was at about 8:30 Saturday morning. So, the MO GOP really was scared.

Quite simple; if we use a position of power; even one as small as the chairmanship of a local republican committee or as large as the state chairman to enforce our beliefs on people; are we not then exactly like the ones we seek to overthrow?

Let me make myself more clear so there is no misunderstanding; if power is abused by you or me or anyone of us in this grassroots campaign how does that differentiate us from those we are seeking to get out of office. It doesnt we will become exactly like them.

Using it is not abusing it. Ron Paul people would be shutting the doors when the agenda said the doors would be shut. That's fine.

Leaving the doors open until your people arrive is wrong.

That's why it is important to be in charge of the doors.

as i said; there is always a chance that power will go to someones head. We have a fine line to tread in keeping our principals and trying to reunite the Republican Party. We cannot afford to totally alienate the opposition in this party; to do so would recreate an 1860 election all over. Except this time the Democrats will have the frontrunner and we'll be split.

All Im saying is I fear the whole "Doing what you want to do" mindset.

Is that you Dick?

Great job on the county level. Now you need to organize a slate from among your congressional districts and get it on the board before the state convention. Get as many of you there for support, even if they have to be credentialed as a guest.
It will be harder to push RP people at the state conventions as national delegates. GO! GO! GO! MO

Here in Douglas County, the Ron Paul people outnumbered everyone else by about 5:1 and we got everything we wanted: All our delegates and alternates are for Ron Paul and we passed every platform amendment we wanted and voted to unbind Missouri's delegates. In short, we RULED.

Hoping to hear similar results from other counties in MO.

:D :D :D :D :D

Can't wait to the convention circus. I hope we all see what a fraud Mcwar is. I see they are having a hard time rigging the delegate process...awww tooo bad.

Hey, looks like we might only face token resistance at the MO state and district conventions.

Don't kid yourself. We had some incredible victories in a number of Missouri counties, but the resistance at CD and State will be anything but token.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!

Take THAT, all you naysaying trolls - who incidentally seem to be conspicuously missing from this thread.

Well, there was one at the beginning, but the rest are absent.

And I'm hinting that your fears are premature. The opposition *is* alienated. All we can do is treat them fairly and we'll be far better people than they are.

I salute every supporter who attends a caucus or was elected to be a delegate :) .

Here is my take on the Jackson County Caucus. I also recorded all 4 hours of the proceedings for records and just in case they try to overturn our results.

We have a great group of Ron Paul supporters here in Jackson County! Many of our supporters have been working late nights calling donor lists and what not for the last few months to get a big turn out. It really paid off yesterday. We also have a core group of about 4-5 people who really knew Robert’s rules and volunteered to do most of the motions that helped us to have such a huge success.

We had close to a 2/3 majority, which actually went to about a 3/4 majority after the chairman got mad and left. He got upset when after a short recess one of our leaders made a deal to nominate a slate that gave us 107 delegates to their 80 delegates. Another one of our leaders stood up and proposed a slate of 179 all Ron Paul delegates and that is what made the Chairman get upset and leave. He said as he was leaving, "you don't break your word in politics" well it was actually only two or three of our supporters words that put together the mixed slate and it was not voted on yet, so there was no one going back on anyone's word, he had the word of two or three of our supporters and at least those two or three supporters were ready to vote for that combined slate. They were not retracting their nomination for the combined slate. Fortunately I recorded the audio of the whole meeting (4 hours) just in case they want to try to overturn what we did yesterday. We meticulously followed Robert's rules of order and even had several copies of Robert's rules just in case we needed to settle any disputes. It was obvious that he was upset that another one of our leaders dared to propose a slate of only Ron Paul delegates when we had such an obvious super-majority. He knew that we were going to get our way and he did not want to stick around to see what we were going to do next.

Well needless to say after the Chairman left, according to Robert's Rules, the secretary, a Ron Paul supporter, assumed the role of the Chairman and we finished up the meeting.

We got all of our resolutions passed, including one to unbind delegates even in the first round of voting. We also got all but one of our proposed amendments to the party platform. Some of us Ron Paul supporters didn't like the wording of one of these.

In essence, it was a total success with a slate of 179 Ron Paul delegates going to the state convention. My wife and I are two of these delegates.

I am hearing a mixed bag of success here in Missouri, but it looks like we may very well in very good shape at the state convention. According to this thread, it looks like we swept most of the big counties.

State convention, here we come!

Thank you Missourians for all of your hard work!
