Hi there,

I have been a supporter of Dr. Paul for awhile now.

I have noticed in my attempts to broaden his base that there seems to be some serious misconceptions about Dr. Paul's stance on issues.

For example my family is big in the home-school scene in central Oregon. They support Dr. Paul's educational stance but they are terrified about his stance on abortion/birth-control etc. These folks lean "liberal" but "liberal" in the sense of what conservatism used to be. I feel would heartily embrace Dr. Paul's message if they could better understand his stance on individual liberty and freedom and his desire to keep the federal govt small and out of everyone's business.

What needs to get out (I know it says this on the site but apparently folks are confused) is that while Dr. Paul is pro-life etc. he believes these issues are to be decided at the local/state level. It must be made clear he is not pushing FEDERAL anti-abortion legislation but would rather turn it over to the states.

I would say that the distinctions between Dr. Paul's personal position on issues and state's rights to control their own laws needs to be made more clear.

I've seen a lot of this confusion over on tribe.net.
