I registered with the FEC as a Libertarian candidate for Congress in April of 2011 for the seat currently occupied by Republican incumbent Todd Platts. The number of the district will change due to the loss of a congressional seat in PA, however the district is rumored to only change in its number. Pennsylvania only has a primary election for Republicans and Democrats. Once I obtain the necessary amount of signatures (hopefully before the primary), I will be on the ballot in the fall.

I have been a long time supporter of Ron Paul. He is what inspired me to run. I have also been endorsed by the Liberty Candidates web site run by Gigi Bowman.

For Liberty,

Mike Koffenberger

PS I could use some assistance with my web site which is based on WordPress if anyone knows anything about them. Thanks!

Yikes Mike... sure you don't want to run in the Republican primary? The LP has few realistic shots at winning such races, never have one a single one, and most certainly not in Pennsylvania.

This year will mark the first Libertarian candidate elected to Congress ;)

Why waist your time?
If you run as a LP you will not win.
Run Republican if you want any chance at all.

If the LP started encouraging their people to run GOP, we could overwhelm the GOP and turn their platform into an LP one.

I am in your district. Run republican and I will support your endeavor. Your party title is irrelevant. The machine in place requires we participate in the two party system in place. If you are running to lose, run LP.

This is what I was debating why is it better to run in Republican primary versus LP ? can someone explain? Thanks.
