Michigan will be our stronghold and turning point

All of my family lives in Metro Detroit. I've been talking with them about Ron Paul since September. Their reaction over the holidays? They still have not seen one sign or heard anything about him in Michigan. If people think Michigan is going to be a "stronghold" they are living in a dream world. Ron Paul will have a respectful result but winning the state is going to be a long shot. Plenty of people don't even know who he is.
No offense, but your family must not be very observant cause we are hot round here and signs are every where.

Downtown detroit?

Everywhere I go in metro I see signs and bumper stickers. I see signs and stickers for Ron Paul ONLY.

I sure am surprised about the lack of faith in MI's primary around here. We have paper ballots and we'll get alot of dem and indie votes. If yall are as pessimistic about our chances here (considering the dem primary situation), what does that say about our chances elsewhere? As far as sign coverage, we're 2nd to none up here and that's the bottomline. If yall were to see what I see everyday, maybe you'd have a change in tune. Have yall forgotten the Ann Arbor rally or what?
I do not think the pessimism comes from what thegrassroots has been doing or what we have achieved in Michigan over the past year. I think alot of the pessimism is coming from the fact that the national campaign has left us high and dry. That is the facts and after all of the hard work and long hours we have put in to get the message out there we really could have used there help in the final stages. But nothing but empty promises. Kind of makes me wonder where all that 25, 000, 000 is being spent?

I've been carpeting the area with slim jims whenever I stop somewhere, and every time I go back to a place where I left a stack, they're gone.. usually fast i'm told.

Rally in Birch Run Saturday the 12th!!!

Please come to the Birch Run Expo Center on January 12th at 10:00 AM for a short grassroots rally.
Take the Birch Run exit west from I 75 (about 19 miles north of the I 69 interchange) and turn north at the first crossstreet away form the mall. It dead ends at the Expo Center. Bring a carload of supporters and your yard signs and rally for Paul for an hour.
This wiil be a lot of fun and we hope to get some media coverage!

Please pass this around to everyone you know in Michigan. This event is posted on the Flint and Saginaw/Bay City/Midland meetup groups.

I really think that Michigan is our weak point, not strong point, and they're going to strike it for massive damage.

In Roseville, there are next to no Ron Paul supporters it seems, I passed out slimjims and people were all either Romney or Huckabee supporters.

I went to the Flint Ron Paul campaign office yesterday and told them I wanted to be a precinct captain and poll watcher. The man in the suit took my name, address and email address and told me he would get back to me.

I don't have a list of where I am supposed to put the slim jims or anything yet.... and the man still has not replied like he told me he would. Maybe he will respond in another 4 or 5 days.... but I'm old and can't get around as fast enough to get all that needs to be done in a day or two. I feel like crying.

I submitted my absentee ballot yesterday. I'll be in Upper Michigan on business on election day. However, I'll be talking to everyone I meet about the primary and Ron Paul. I see these people once a year and I've been talking about Dr. Paul to them for years as the only politician in Washington who truly understands how government finance works. Maybe I will win a few of them over for the primary. Good luck to all who are working to help Dr. Paul's campaign. Don't be discouraged. It takes a long time to educate people who have been taught to believe things that aren't true.

Michigan is on the 15th and has 2,460 meetup.com members in comparison to New Hampshire's 1,144.. more than double.

This is useless to point out considerin the population of michigan is 10 million versus New Hampshire's 1 million.....just saying to be reasonable.

Michigan is far better than SC.

1) open primary with no Democratic contest, so anyone anti-war
2) close to Canada so they know the dollar is shit now
3) close to Canada so they hate the Bush Chertoff passport nonsense
4) large Moslem population.
5) large Arab Christian population

SC is Huck territory. 3rd would be great behind Huck and McCain.
