I was home with the folks in Traverse City MI over NY's, and I had the opportunity to meet Michael Moore. He lives around there, and has been heavily involved in a
local theater and film festival Festival. So when I went to see the film Juno at the State Theater, he was hanging out in the lobby. I walked up to him and chatted him up.
I've talked to him a few times before, and I know his politics - he's a die-hard Dem. I knew I couldn't come straight out and try to win him over to RP. I told him that I loved Sicko, asked him who he'd endorse for prez, and stated that I didn't think that the top 3 Dem candidates were not anti-war enough - so what about Ron Paul? He said "oh Ron Paul, everyone likes Ron Paul", then he said that he hadn't really thought about who he was going to endorse, but would be issuing a statement today.
What's kind of funny is that I had some RP slim jims with me, but on the way to the theater they fell out of my pocket and into the mud. Crap! I could have given one to Michael Moore himself!!!
BTW - MM is actually a very gracious and personable guy when you meet him. He doesn't travel around with a security detail or retinue. It's just him there disheveled and engaging. Pretty cool.
