Just saw this video for a lady running for congress in Utah's 4th district:

Here are her stances on her website:
On military:
Equip our armed forces, and engage only when there is a defined national security objective and with the consent of Congress, not the United Nations.

On Social Security:
We must keep the promises made to our seniors to provide for their retirement while we move aggressively to more solvent alternatives.

On Federal Land:

The federal government has too much control over Utah's public lands. We must take action to reasonably and responsibly access this land for recreation, jobs, energy and public education funding.

What do you think, should we keep an eye on this one?

If elected in November, Love would be the first black Republican woman in Congress and Utah's first black representative. She said she would join the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C., should she win.

"Yes, yes. I would join the Congressional Black Caucus and try to take that thing apart from the inside out," she said.

Though officially nonpartisan, the caucus has been more closely identified with the Democratic Party.

"It’s demagoguery. They sit there and ignite emotions and ignite racism when there isn’t," Love said. "They use their positions to instill fear. Hope and change is turned into fear and blame. Fear that everybody is going lose everything and blaming Congress for everything instead of taking responsibility."

The caucus isn't the only thing Love said she would dismantle in Washington. The departments of education and energy must go, she said. States, she said, should take back those duties along with health care.

Oh hell yeah. She has major backers in the House (Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor). She can win.

Someone should get in contact with her.

I am a little scared that Cantor back her. Actually it scares me that Ryan back her too.

I like her platform, even though it's only one sentence per issue. Who will she run against? What's the Cook rating for the district?

New district, so no Cook rating.

Jim Matheson has said he is running, I believe.

EDIT: Looking at the district, appears McCain would have won with 54-56% of the vote. Should be slight R leaning, although Matheson has a history of winning close races.

Youre right, Utah is getting a 4th seat. If Matheson runs, it'll be hard to beat him. Even though he's a democrat and Republicans usually win the presidential election in Utah, Matheson has consistently kept his seat in a R+15 district since 2000.

You know what's hilarious, when I saw this ad I thought, "I wonder if she's going to say at the very end, "My name's Mia Love, I'm running for congress, AND I'M A MORMON" :)

........

Then I found this:
