Message From Dr. Paul: Onward to the Convention, and Beyond!

I will fight for Paul for as long as it takes! I feel so strongly about Ron Paul, that I would take a bullet for the man. The Revolution is just beginning and it is far from over. We gotta keep on keeping on!

But Ron Paul also needs to win 5 states to be a part of any brokered convention.

During the brokered convention, he would need to have the majority of delegates from at least 5 states to be eligible for nomination.

In other words, if it goes to a brokered convention and Ron Paul gathers up 1192 votes, but all those delegate votes are spread around every state without being the majority from at least 5 states, then those 1192 votes do not make him eligible for nomination. They would need to do another ballot at the convention. The rules do not say that he needs to win popular vote in 5 states prior to the convention. It says that he needs to have a majority of delegate votes from 5 states prior to NOMINATION. If those 5 states majority happen during the convention, it is prior to nomination, so he'd be eligible.

There was no possible way for Paul to indicate a third party run prior to the TX primary (which also the primary for his congressional seat). Sore loser laws may have applied to Paul's congressional run if he spoke of a third party line before Mar. 4. Perhaps as events unfold during spring he may reconsider, given that the road to victory with a brokered GOP convention is harder without the leverage of an independent candidacy.

Excellent point!

He might also be waiting for Huckabee to drop out. McCain's a much easier opponent to discredit than Huckabee (who has his share of skeletons, to be sure). Dropping out of the GOP race now might re-energize the Huckabee campaign. This strategy weeds out more of the competition.

I think it would be good to see the gloves come off a little, though. Ron Paul's opponents are very vulnerable. Sure, he's the consummate gentleman, but he can get agressive and still be polite about it.

I guess the worse case scenerio is RP is back in Congress, proposing legislature and we start "spamming" our representatives to support his bills. RP could definitely get farther in Congress if even 5% of the population pressured their representatives to support his bills! And we could use the next 4 years to educate people to be ready to elect a Ron Paul Republican. Worst-case scenerio is this is just the beginning.

I'm discouraged, but that's just b/c I wanted my revolution to happen now and not have to work for a bit slower. But let me remind us all, that the message is not limited to a single election year and we can't quit, even if we don't win YET!

That's exactly what we need . Build an army around Ron Paul within the Congress .
He's been the lone ranger for most of his years . We need some more Dr. NOs . What we'll discover is that there are others in Congress that can also be swayed . The message has gotten out loud and clear . What we now need is a way to know who to support in these endeavors . A huge forum where we can remain as a force . Maybe even a non-profit Corporation where we can build a war chest for future needs ? We could also continue to educate and build the membership .

are you fucking kidding me? what, are you missing TV shows or something?

i don't understand this attitude.

I'm very sad too, but I'm going to hang in there until the end because Dr. Paul is the best candidate no matter what. Even if I have to write his name on the ballot.

Guys, Dr Paul's campaign is just the beginning. Our mission is to influence and take over the Republican party. McCains nomination is good for the movement, as there is no glory without trial. He will be such a failure, the republican party will be forced to admit it needs a dramatic change. We are that change!

I leave you with the wise words of my 2nd favorite politician.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

Viva La Revolucione! !!!

Thank you Ron, for the most excitment I've had in years. We gave it one hell of a good shot and whether they want to admit it or not .... we did make history!!!! I have but one regret, and that is that it's coming to an end, bittersweet though it may be. I have made more friends and met more people who think alot like i do & at 60, I never thought that would happen. I hope my grand babies don't hold it against me for giving Dr. Paul the money I would have spent on them for Christmas. Something tells me they won't!

Fellow Paulites! We will meet again and soon, I hope! There is much work yet to be done! If any of you ever get to Houston, Texas .... look me up cuz mi casa, es su casa. I guess tomorrow I'd better start checking around for foreign language classes, ... Chinese, Iraqi, Iranian and the like!
Good luck everybody and may god bless and have mercy on our souls!

One more thing ... find a good hiding place for your fireamrs and clean them often. you never know for sure when they'll be coming around to take them from you!

Not true, IMO. Huckabee's gonna split it now, as was getting apparent in the southern states. Besides, as with every single election, the GOP nominee is not decided until the convention. Period. Until the delegates cast their votes, it's not final. Period.

McCain's still got a TON of work to do to shore up the win. And we ain't gonna make it easy for him, now are we rEVOLution-istas? :D

If you ain't figured it out yet lemme help .... McTraitor or Huckchuck neither one are gonna win ... this is the year of the democrat and i think its gonna be Obama, at least I hope it's not Clinton.

If that were the case, I don't think he would have ever made this announcement. This explains why Ruskin "defected" yesterday. He knew this was coming and the opportunity was there and Ron gave him his blessing.

I wonder if Ron will do another book mentoring Congressional hopefuls! That would be soooo cool!

Thank You For The Injection Of Sense!!

THis is no time to quit!! WE are the ones who must show that our efforts can NOT be discredited- ALL WE NEED is 5 states in order to carry our message to the convention AND BEYOND!

THIS IS CRITICAL: dig DEEP in your pockets, ask your friends and relatives: THIS IS THE TIME TO MAX OUT. We need the MONEYBOMB of all MONEYBOMBS!!!! We need to put our wallets where our mouths are and show Dr. Paul that he can count on our SUPPORT to carry on!! THIS IS THE TIME for the climax of all our efforts- for all the grassroots in the primary states to pull out a WIN for our movmeent, so that Dr. Paul can make his case to the NATIONAL convention.

THIS AIN'T OVER- no one else will ever steal our loyalty!!!!!!

Exactly!

Just what I'm thinking- LOOK folks, RP has responsibilities as the head of a campaign and a movement to be diplomatic. He is the caretaker of a Congressional seat, and like Peace&Freedom says, he needs the best of both worlds in case the MSM keeps their blackout.

On the other hand, WE have the power to carry on this campaign and produce the WINS we need for a brokered convention! IF we get only 1/4 of the remaining primaries, we will have our voice at the convention- and WHO KNOWS what can happen in that time??

Look at it in this way- are we WILLING to wave the white flag and surrender our allegiance to McCAin and his neverending war?? NO! This is the time for us to push as hard as we can, and above all, to delare that we will NEVER give up our principals and vote for anone LESS than RON PAUL!!!

He has stated many times he'll drop out when his supporters stop sending money. I wonder if the decline in donations since Feb 1st shaped the tone of the message.

Good Christ, MONEY BOMBING DOES NOT EDUCATE THE MASSES! It's not the MSM, it's not poor national campaign planning, and it's not the lack of donations.

The main problem in this country is the people! We are uneducated, lazy, desensitized, and bigoted.

90% of the people in this country don't deserve the fruits of a revolution. They don't deserve our effort.

He's being sensible.

something we should all be.

Support the man and keep the message going.
Be proud of what you've done and help him win his congressional seat.
We have changed the republican party!! Brought in issues that needed to be addressed that no other would dare touch.

Be proud, and wait for our next chance.
