Nothing is 100% truely original- everything is based on what came before. Question is how much is borrowing and how much is stealing?
Seems the speechwriter borrowed a couple of sentences. Was it borrowed from Michelle or an earlier source?
That's not what the Trump supporters are saying at all.Trump supporters are surreal.
They practically come right out and say, "Trump is making fools of us! And we love it! It's brilliant!"

They are saying "Trump is making fools of the haters! And we (the supporters) love it! It's brilliant!"
And in fact, it is.
He trolls the haters like a ninja, and plays the media like a violin.
I can't help to think how a Kelley Paul speech would have looked and sounded...![]()
I'm trying to understand how supporters think this is a win for how people view his wife. Visual association with Michelle Obama? So you want me to make a mental parallel to the Obama administration? Or look at her and automatically think plagiarism? Is she so daft or the campaign so poor they couldn't write a unique speech without playing their audience for fools?
The speech doesn't make the "haters" 'look bad because they point out what was done. It sure does make those who gush about Melania look pretty silly, though.
I think this must be part of Trump's plan to lose to Hillary. He's getting too close and needs to come up with more ways to sabotage himself, lest he actually wins.
Its a win because with a wave of the hand they made Melania a household name. Anybody that watches Faux, CNN or MSNBC will hear "Melania, Melania, Melania..." for two days straight - maybe 100+ times AND they will see how attractive and well-spoken she is.I'm trying to understand how supporters think this is a win for how people view his wife. He is targeting vulnerable people who feel like their identity and culture is being erased. He makes people think that he is fighting for them against a rigged system, that the system is biased against white Americans.. He wants people to think that he is their Obama. It's a populist approach which could work if people are dumb enough to fall for it. That being said I don't doubt that Trump would run on a different platform if he thought it would be more successful, I really don't think he means any of the sentiment.

Really weak argument. The "plagiarized text" is as cliche as it gets, any B+ high schooler writing a speech could end up with similar cliche statements without copying anyone specific.
THIS^^ The guy has been writing about this for decades-it's no secret, but dayum, they're falling for it as if it was! That's not what the Trump supporters are saying at all.
