Medina's ads should be focused on getting her name out there and making a positive image.

We have to really look out for what I would call the Daggett effect. Chris Daggett ran as an Independent in New Jersey in 2009 for Governor. Like Medina, he cut taxes in some places but raised the sales tax. Like Medina, his polling hit above 20%.

Then, Chris Christie, recognizing the threat of Daggett, ran a 500k ad buy targeting Daggett. Daggett, low on funding as a major outsider, could not answer the charges on every TV screen in New Jersey. Christie then comfortably took the gubernatorial race by a hefty margin.

This is the threat Medina faces. She needs to make sure she has a positive connotation to her name or sink her nascent bid.

This is why we'll need to fight like crazy for more debates between March 2 and the run-off. Before then, I don't think either candidate will start aggressive attacks on Debra because the situation is too delicate for both.

Hey, what do you all think the chances are that the establishment will recognize that KBH is toast before the March 2 election and pressure/bribe her to withdraw from the race before then in order to help Perry win outright on March 2 without a run-off?

But I think Perry knows he's already peaked, and the sooner he can face just one candidate, the better his chances are of ultimate victory. I'm not saying the strategy of getting rid of KBH would be successful, but it seems like Perry's best chance at ending the race early in his favor.
