Medina at 24% in PPP Poll!!!

I'm kind of surprised about the stats for ideology. Medina is BY FAR the most conservative.

I get the feeling that they confused the ideology of liberalism with libertarianism. Texas has a very powerful libertarian undercurrent. It's just hard to get it to come to the surface, but it looks like Medina is having some success in that.

There were similar stats for Ron Paul, weren't there?

But it is a bit stranger for Medina because war is not an issue in this race.

So close to forcing a runoff... between Perry and Medina!

What's the best strategy? Attracting Perry voters? Attracting Hutchison voters? Attracting the undecided voters? Attacking Kay?

Soooo close with so little time to hit second place.

Great questions. I'd be very interested in hearing some informed answers. More of the same though - what has been done so far is working!

holy shit nuggets!

Should we make a RickPerry.info and a Texans.ForKary.info site?

Perry and Hutchinson are taking shots at each other. People tend to not like mud-slinging.

Push Debra's plans.

If we get her some money, she might at least be able to buy some radio ads. I'm just guessing that Perry and Hutchinson have already bought up most, if not all, of the TV ad time.

Medina is only winning the "liberal" votes because only 17 people identified as liberal. There were only 423 survey respondents, 4% of them liberal, which totals to 17 people, and a whopping 8 of those people preferred Medina. I don't think it's worth reading TOO much into.

agreed - Just get her name out there as the alternative to the status quo and that'll take hold. She needs publicity.

How about a mass phone/email action day to get her some press??

Good point.

423 respondents is about as small of a sample as you'd ever want for a serious poll anyway.

Only 4% of 423 polled, self identified as liberals. Than is 17 people. It is not surprising that 8 would be Medina supporters.

nm, someone is faster with a calculator than me :P

Yeah but real conservative draw a lot on indie type voters, as long as you don't wear your religious views on your sleeve. Like Ron is a devout religious man, but you wouldn't know it from his speeches really. People respect that, even atheists like me :D

If you're in Texas, get with your county coordinator (mail <yourcounty>[email protected]) and volunteer to knock doors. There is no substitute for shoe leather, not even millions of dollars. If you're not in Texas, donate so we can turn your remote resources into local ones.

Point Texans at http://medinafortexas.com/townhall so we can turn those undecideds into voters. Debra does VERY WELL among people who have heard her speak.

Texans need to do some tremendous sign waves!! I'm talking like all day events over the busiest roadways with hundreds of people! If you can't buy ads in the media have your supporters become the news ;)

Does anyone know if it's conventional in Texas to have a second round of debates between the first election and the run-off?

If Medina could face off with Rick Perry in a couple more debates before the run-off, I think her victory would be sealed.

This means she has a chance to open a lot of eyes in the next 3 weeks!

Get busy. Hit all the newspapers in Texas.

1) To dems and independents, face it there will be a republican running the show in Austin long after the votes have been tallied. Now is their one opportunity to kick Perry to the curb. They don't even have to register republican, IIRC.

2) To "conservatives," Debra Medina is their one opportunity to stand up to Rick Perry and his thieving, land grabbing, big wig bankster cronies. Debra Medina is the only TRUE conservative in the race. She is the only one who truly stands for us. She even wants to end property taxes!

Texas, it's time to send the King of Spain packing.

All the info. they need on voting in the primary:

I think she's going to start getting a lot more free publicity after these poll results. The MSM was still only just noticing her jump to 16%.
