Media silence on the blimp?

Considering that the blimp was funded solely by Ron Paul's supporters, I was expecting to find a lot more press about it than I've been seeing. While I wasn't expecting it to headline any newspapers by any means, I was anticipating some coverage beyond just the more local news in the Boston Globe, Herald, etc.

I haven't been watching TV for the past few months since I make it a discipline not to while I'm studying, but has anyone else noticed somewhat of a major media silence on the blimp's launch?

And since I don't want to end up making several threads on one board in a short amount of time, has anyone seen this?:

I have a hard time believing that he paid people to slur Huckabee like they're implying, so what's the other side of the story with that?

The media has been completely silent....

I was thinking that THEY are feeling manipulated by US lol. They all know whats coming this weekend, and they cannot .....dare not ignore us once Sunday starts. I think that the big media fellas are well aware that the people at large about to make a statement they cannot spin and they dont know what to do about it.

Poor Rudy.

The blimp also got two very positive segments on CNN's Situation Room, segments which also touted the upcoming teaparty07 fundraiser. It's also been on Fox, in the NY Times...pretty good first day, I'd say.

Of course, but I doubt people will randomly search for "Ron Paul Blimp". Coverage by the MSM is what we need! Truely CNN has mentioned it some, but they've spent more time on stupid stories. We need to become even more elaborate in our creativity.

We can win if we never forget our cause!

Wait until Monday. After the teaparty donation day they will be once again be talking about Ron Paul. We need to reach that $10 million one day mark real bad so that they take us serious. Or we could talk about cocaine or religion. j/k

Bear in mind the media will never give Paul anything......he could raise a million dollars on Monday.

Please don't get your hopes up that the CONTROLLED MEDIA is going to do anything but try to stop and discredit Dr. Paul. We are at war with these people.

The point is we don't need them. They are the old finished media. The money will be put to good use to counter their lack of coverage......enough said.

Even one national prime-time story will cause the blimp to be worthwhile.

It's early days, I agree with kushaze, Monday will be the big news day. A combined Blimp/Money bomb day.

To be honest, none of it really matters, except the day when Wolf and friends realize that their paycheck is not worth their freedom. For probably sooner than later, they will have a decision to make.

From the beginning I thought that we would not get as much media coverage as some of the others expected. The fact of the mater is, the bullies own the media and they will do what ever they want!

However I still think the blimp will be highly successful. We need to continue to inform the local media outlets along the blimp route They won't be able to stop us from doing that!

This will reach millions just from local outlets.!!!!!!

That will change once the schedule is set and the media can reliably get video footage of the blimp. I just got lucky that I was able to get video of it earlier today. Not many stories will pop up until they have video of the beast in flight (esp. with both banners!) to air along with it.

I very honestly disagree with you. While you may consider the campaign at war with these disagreeable aspects of politics, it does not make them any less influential to the average layman. The underdogs frequently complain about media focus on who raises the most amount of money. Now that Ron Paul has collected so much money, they suddenly no longer consider that focus very much important. While you may disagree with the system, it's important that we use it to our own advantage to garner success. That's why I'm interested in seeing to it that the influential news companies, however much controlled, feature information about Ron Paul as much as possible.

Keep dreaming. The fact is that they are now inconsequential and will only be USED for campaign ads, which they HAVE to play by election laws.

We did this all online. The msm has had their day, now it is our time. The american people's time.

Here's why I like the blimp.

It's big.
It's odd.
It's rare.

Everyone will see it.
A few people might call up their local media outlets about it, be it radio or print media.
Most people will tune into old media to wait for the news about the blimp. It probably won't happen.

Some people might think (I hope - might be too much to hope for), "A blimp flies through town and their is no news on it? Why am I not being told about this?!? If it was a blimp with Romney or Guiliani on it, it would be all over the radio and print media. Who is Ron Paul? I guess I'll have to go find out."

That would be sweet. :D

Um. Okay...

I don't think I'm "dreaming" just because I recognize that the majority of Americans prefer to have news given to them on TV rather than to search for it online. Ignoring the media when they ignore us isn't the best way to go, in my very humble opinion. But maybe you're right and I'm wrong.
